NEDERLAND — Meet Julia German. Her gallery, Burly Carving Studios, is a large barn space on her property filled with sculptures and paintings. In addition to stone and wood, German also uses bone and metal to create when she’s not oil painting or sculpting.
Largely inspired by nature and the human connection to it, she tells us, “All of my work integrates natural shapes and materials that are carved or etched to create something beautiful and powerful.”
German is not only a mixed-media artist; she is also an instructor, offering carving courses designed for everyone from beginners to experienced woodworkers who want to learn how to see and create in three dimensions.
Burly Carving Studios is at 582 Beaver Creek Drive, Nederland. You can call at 303-825-4188 or visit burlycarving.com to learn more. You can find German on social media at @burlycarving.
