Jesse Harrison Scroggins Spratford was a renowned chef who has gone to the big kitchen in the sky.

Jesse was born in Denver, Colorado, on March 23, 1976. He was from Ward, Colorado, and died in Ward on November 10, 2024. Jesse was a graduate of Nederland Middle - Senior High School, in Nederland, Colorado. He loved to cook and was employed as a chef. 

Jesse enjoyed skiing, croquet, and river rafting. He loved being with his children and loved being around kids. He was a big Broncos fan. 

He was loved by many including his mother, Kathy Bremers and his fathers, Harrison York, Robert Spratford and Henry Bremers. 

Jesse’s first love was Nicki Dunn and their child Chael Harrison Dunn Spratford. He was married to Lindy Beth Spratford from 2004 - 2016 and they had three children; Mykayla Jean, Alexandra Sue, and Lily Faith. Valada Dubitsky, Big Joe and Little Bad were his friends and housemates. 

Jesse is also survived by siblings Jessica Spratford (nieces Lizz and Julia), Katie Spratford (nephew Mason), Phil Spratford and Nicholle Ptak (nieces Sophia and Chloe), Roby Spratford and Jesica Peirce (niece Charlotte Mae) and brother Evan Harrison York. He is survived by two grandchildren Roman Jean and Cash, and step siblings Stefanie Bremers, Alana Bremers, and Sam Bremers. He is also survived by Grand’Mere Helen Spratford, Aunt Cathy Dowling, Aunt Pam York Miller Rayl, and Cousin Krista Miller Swisher. 

Jesse is preceded in death by his father Harrison York, grandmother Fayann Phillips, grandfather Jack Scroggins, grandfather Larry Spratford, and grandparents Lorraine “Mimi” and Bud Kroulik. 

Jesse’s family believes that family is where life begins and love never dies. And there is a belief in the Spratford family that “once a Spratford, always a Spratford.”

A Celebration of Life for Jesse Harrison Scroggins Spratford will be at the Nederland Community Center on November 26, 2024, from 12:30 - 3 p.m. All are welcome. Bring a covered dish and memories to share.
