On 1/1/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy and the driver was issued a

summons.

On 1/1/18 at approximately 7:50 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for going the wrong way on a

one-way street. The driver did not have a valid driver`s license.

On 1/1/18 a deputy conducted a welfare check. A party of the welfare check had two active

warrants and was in violation of a mandatory protection order.

On 1/1/18 a deputy responded to the area of Eureka St. and Prosser St. for the report of a motor

vehicle accident involving injuries.

On 1/1/18 at 4:50 a.m., a deputy responded to a traffic accident which occurred in a parking garage

in the 100 block of Lawrence Street. One of the vehicles fled the scene, the owner of the damaged

vehicle was not located. A report was taken.

On 1/1/18 a deputy took a phone report of an incident at a residence in unincorporated Gilpin

County.

On 1/2/18 a deputy located a party with a warrant in the 1400 block of Highpoint Circle. This party

was arrested, and a report was later completed.

On 1/3/18 a deputy conducted a welfare check on level 1 of the Grand Z Casino Parking Garage

located at 321 Gregory Street. During this welfare check, a party was arrested for violation of protection

order and a warrant out of Lake County.

On 1/4/18 at approximately 8:25 a.m., a person arrived at the Gilpin County Jail who had an active,

valid warrant for his arrest. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility

for processing.

On 1/4/18 at approximately 2:46 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a verbal disturbance in the 400

Block of Old Hughesville Road, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado. No crime was

committed during the disturbance. One of the parties involved was found to have had his Colorado

driver`s license canceled / denied.

On 1/4/18 a deputy took a telephone report of a criminal mischief incident that occurred in the 400

block of East 1st High Street. A report was later completed.

On 1/4/18 damage to a county vehicle was noticed.

On 1/5/18 at approximately 2:30 p.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person

presently in custody at the Gilpin County Jail. The person was processed on the warrant.

On 1/5/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 and the driver was later arrested for

DUI.

On 1/6/18 a deputy observed a driver throw burning material from a motor vehicle. He was issued

a summons.

On 1/6/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 5800 block of the Highway 119. The driver was

issued a summons for a traffic violation.

On 1/6/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 and the driver was later arrested for

DUI.

On 1/7/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City and the driver was later arrested for

DUI.

On 1/7/18 a deputy noticed a "DO NOT ENTER” sign had been run into on Gregory Street at Spring

Street. A suspect could not be identified.

On 1/8/18 a deputy recognized a party in court to have an outstanding warrant. The party was

arrested.

On 1/8/18 a deputy responded to a cold disturbance call at the Famous Bonanza Casino. Suspect

was cited for disorderly conduct.

On 1/8/18 at 1:59 p.m., an inmate being released from the Gilpin County Detention Facility was

found to have an active warrant.

On 1/8/18 a deputy received a case involving a possible theft and elder abuse. After investigating

the claims, it was determined that the venue of the crime was outside of the jurisdiction of Gilpin

County. The information was forwarded to the proper law enforcement agency.

On 1/8/18 a deputy was given a wallet that had been found. A report was made.

On 1/9/18 at approximately 2:15 a.m., a warrant was located for an inmate of the Gilpin County

Sheriff`s office. The inmate was booked on this warrant without incident.

On 1/9/18 at 11:29 a.m., a deputy met with a complainant referencing an illegal dumping which

occurred on his property, located on Young Ranch, in unincorporated Gilpin County, CO 80427.

On 1/9/18 a deputy took a report of identity theft.

On 1/9/18 a deputy voided a traffic ticket and informed the defendant.

On 1/9/18 deputies responded to Rollinsville on the report of an assault. The case is active and still

under investigation.

On 1/10/18 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a person in the Gilpin County Courtroom was remanded

into custody and was brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.

On 1/10/18 at approximately 9:00 p.m., an inmate attempting to bond out of jail was found to have

an active warrant out of Arvada PD, the inmate was booked in on his warrant and bonded immediately

after.

On 1/10/18 at approximately 10:00 p.m., a deputy conducted a welfare check on a male party in

the Century Casino parking garage. The male party was later found to have an outstanding warrant and

was placed under arrest.

On 1/11/18 at approximately 7:23 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to a

defective headlamp. The driver of the vehicle was later found not to have a valid driver`s license and

was issued a summons.

On 1/11/18 at approximately 7:00 a.m., a male inmate who was brought in on transports earlier in

the day, was found to have an active out-of- county warrant.

On 1/12/18 a deputy took a report of a telephone scam call.

On 1/12/18 at approximately 6:53 p.m., a deputy responded to the Century Casino Parking garage

on the report of two intoxicated male parties who were attempting to locate their vehicle to leave. One

of the male parties whom the deputy contacted was later found to have an outstanding warrant and

was placed under arrest.

On 1/13/18 at approximately 12:52 a.m., a male inmate currently in custody at the Gilpin County

Jail was found to have an additional active Gilpin County Warrant.

On 1/14/18 at approximately 10:20 a.m., a deputy assisted a Parks and Wildlife officer by

accomplishing a drug influence evaluation on a party recently arrested for driving under the influence.

On 1/14/18 at 11:59 a.m., deputies responded to a building in the 100 block of Eureka Street on the

report of a cold burglary. A report was taken.

On 1/14/18 a deputy responded to a smoke sighting. Parties were contacted and had a small fire

going in a culvert. A report was later taken for found property at the location and one of the parties was

issued a summons.

On 1/14/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville and the driver was later arrested for

DUI.

On 1/15/18 a deputy towed a vehicle which had been parked in the same location for three days.

On 1/15/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119. The driver was arrested, and a

passenger was issued a summons.

On 1/15/18 a deputy conducted a welfare check in the Grand Z Parking Garage. The party had an

outstanding warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.

On 1/16/18 a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop in Central City and the vehicle failed to

pull over and engaged a vehicle pursuit. The Deputy disengaged the pursuit for public safety. The driver

was later identified, and a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

On 1/16/18 at approximately 1:15 a.m., a deputy responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle

that became a motorist assist. When the driver failed to return to the vehicle it was towed as a road

hazard.

On 1/16/18 at approximately 6:38 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an address in unincorporated

Gilpin County, on a report of a possible stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located the vehicle, and

confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of Aurora. A case report was completed.

On 1/17/18 at approximately 1:05 a.m., a deputy was conducting a business check at a casino in

Central City. A party approached the deputy to report a lost cellphone. A report was completed.

On 1/17/18 at approximately 12:54 a.m., a deputy was advised via radio that there was a stolen

vehicle headed northbound on Highway 119, from Richmond Street in the City of Black Hawk, Colorado,

80422. The vehicle was stopped in approximately the 100 Block of Paradise Valley Parkway, located in

unincorporated Gilpin County, 80422. The driver was arrested for Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft and

the passenger was arrested for having an active warrant, which was extraditable from the scene`s

location. A case report was later completed.

On 1/17/18 at approximately 1:15 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person

currently in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was processed on the warrant.

On 1/17/18 at approximately 5:16 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino, located at

321 Gregory Street, Central City, Colorado 80427, on a report of a male party trespassing in the valet

parking garage. A male party was issued a summons and releases. A case report was

completed.

On 1/18/18 at approximately 12:30 a.m., a deputy was conducting a business check of a casino in

Central City. The deputy was contacted by casino staff about an altercation between casino staff and a

patron. The deputy responded and later determined the patron was in violation of a protection order.

The patron was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

On 1/18/18 a deputy was dispatched to the Z-Stop gas station 1351 Highway 119, Gilpin County,

Black Hawk, CO 80422 and took a report of found counterfeit money. The counterfeit money bill was

confiscated and processed into evidence.

On 1/18/18 at approximately 10:35 a.m., a person arrived at the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office who

had an active, valid warrant for his arrest. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County

Detention Facility for processing.

On 1/18/18 a deputy was informed to contact a party at a metro hospital referencing a dog bite

that had occurred the day before in Gilpin County, off South Beaver Creek Road. A report was made, no

charges were filed.

On 1/18/18 at 12:59 a.m., a deputy responded to the 100 block of Nevada St. in Central City on a

motor vehicle accident. The motor vehicle had collided with a light post.

On 1/18/18 a deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of Mammoth View Lane, Gilpin County,

Central City, CO 80427, on a report of a vehicle break in. A second vehicle was also broken into and a

report was later completed.

On 1/18/18 a deputy was dispatched to the 7400 block of Virginia Canyon Rd, Gilpin County,

Central City, CO 80427, on a report of a theft. Two parties were both issued a summons for theft and a

report was later completed.

On 1/19/18 at approximately 11:24 a.m., a female party arrived in the Sheriff`s Office lobby to turn

herself in on a warrant. A Deputy located an active warrant and the female party was booked into the

Gilpin County Detention Facility on the warrant.

On 1/19/18 at approximately 4:25 a.m., a deputy responded to a medical call for a party suffering a

possible heart attack in the 1200 block of Coyote Circle. The deputy and members of the Gilpin County

Ambulance Authority and Timberline Fire Protection District performed lifesaving efforts. The party was

later pronounced deceased and turned over to the Gilpin County Coroner.

On 1/19/18 at approximately 6:46 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City

Parkway. The driver of the vehicle was later found to not have a valid driver`s license and was issued a

summons.

On 1/19/18 at approximately 6:49 a.m., a Gilpin deputy stopped a vehicle for running the stop sign

at Spring Street and Gregory Street in Central City. It was discovered the adult male driver had a

protection order in place prohibiting from having contact with the adult female passenger. The male

was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail. The female was released on scene.

On 1/19/18 a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on the Central City Parkway. The driver was

found to have a restrained license. A summons was issued, and the party was given a courtesy ride.

On 1/19/18 at approximately 11:50 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle at mile marker 21.1 on

Highway 119 unincorporated Gilpin County Colorado 80474, for a traffic violation. The driver was found

to be under restraint. The driver was issued a summons and proof of service. The driver was given a

courtesy ride to a residence.

On 1/20/18 at 10:58 a.m., a deputy responded to the 100 block of Lawrence Street, Central City CO

80427 regarding a criminal mischief complaint with occurred several days prior in the 400 block of

Bobtail Hill Circle. A report was taken.

On 1/20/18 at approximately 10:59 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for an expired license plate.

The driver of the vehicle had three active warrants and did not have a valid driver`s license. The driver of

the vehicle was taken into custody.

On 1/20/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 6800 block of the Central City Parkway, Gilpin

County, Central City, CO 80427. The driver was found to have an active warrant. The driver was arrested

for the warrant and issued a summons for several traffic violations. A report was later completed.

On 1/20/18 at approximately 9:48 p.m., deputies responded to the Ameristar Casino to attempt to

locate a female party with an active arrest warrant from the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office. The female

party was later located and placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant.

On 1/21/18 a deputy contacted a vehicle on the Central City Parkway for a welfare check. There

were no plates on the vehicle and the male driver of the vehicle provided false information. The vehicle

fled the scene and the pursuit was later terminated. No suspect information.

On 1/21/18 a deputy responded as a cover car for the Colorado State Patrol. A female was arrested

without incident.

On 1/21/18 at approximately 7:30 a.m., a deputy was on patrol in Central City when she observed a

silver PT Cruiser partially blocking the entrance to the Big T Parking Lot. The vehicle was towed for snow

plow operations.

On 1/22/18 at approximately 2:25 p.m., two active, valid warrants were discovered for a person

currently in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was processed on the warrants.

On 1/22/2018 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was issued a summons

for driving the wrong way on a one-way street and fictitious plates.

On 1/22/2018 a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The passenger was issued a proof of

service and his driver’s license was seized.

On 1/25/18 at 8:45 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy responded to 5312 Highway 119 in Gilpin County

to take a vehicle theft report. The vehicle was eventually recovered in Jefferson County.

On 1/24/18 at approximately 11:45 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person

currently in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was processed on the warrant.

On 1/24/18 at approximately 4:21 p.m., Gilpin deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol at mile post

10 on Highway 119 with a felony warrant arrest. The suspect was taken into custody. Deputies located a

small black cloth containing an unknown substance. The substance was turned over to CSP.

On 1/25/18 at approximately 2:00 a.m., an inmate set to be released from custody was found to

have three active warrants, the inmate was then booked into Gilpin County Jail on all warrants.

On 1/25/18 at approximately 10:11 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy was called to investigate a dog

issue at the 100 block of Evans View Lane. The dog owner was charged for having a dog at large and

issued a summons to appear in court.

On 1/25/18 a deputy responded to the 1500 block of Missouri Gulch Road, Gilpin County, Black

Hawk, CO 80422, on a report of a cold burglary. A report was later completed.

On 1/25/18 at approximately 7:20 p.m., a male inmate who was brought to Gilpin County Jail via

transports was found to have an additional active out-of- county warrant upon booking.

On 1/25/18 at approximately 11:26 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at mile

marker 5 of Highway 119. The driver of the vehicle was later found to not have a valid driver`s license

and was issued a summons.

On 1/26/18 at 10:57 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a welfare check on the Central City Parkway

in the 7500 block, Central City CO 80427. Upon arrival it was determined that the motorist did not have

a valid license. The motorist was served a summons and released.

0n 1/26/18 at approximately 2:44 p.m., a deputy working his assigned shift at the Gilpin County Jail

arrested one adult male and had him booked into the Gilpin County Jail on a warrant without incident.

On 1/26/18 at approximately 6:27 p.m., a Gilpin deputy stopped a vehicle for traveling 45 MPH in a

35 MPH zone in Rollinsville. Investigation revealed the adult male driver and both adult male

passengers had outstanding warrants for their arrests. Further investigation revealed 2.4 grams of

suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle along with open containers of marijuana. All three males

were arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

On 1/26/18 a deputy contacted a vehicle in the 100 Block of Pine Street. A male party in the vehicle

was later arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant.

On 1/26/18 at approximately 10:00 p.m., a deputy stopped a motor vehicle in the 3000 block of

Highway 119 for having expired registration. The male passenger inside the vehicle was found with an

open container of alcohol and was also in violation of a protection order. He was arrested and processed

into the Gilpin County Jail. it was later determined that he had violated his parole, and a hold was placed

on him.

On 1/26/18 a deputy contacted a vehicle inside of the Grand Z Casino Parking Garage. Two parties

inside of the vehicle were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

On 1/27/18 a deputy stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at mile marker 19.4 on Highway

119. The vehicle did not have insurance, nor was it registered. The vehicle was towed, and the driver

was issued a summons.

On 1/27/18 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Z Casino Parking Lot and the driver was

arrested for driving on a revoked license.

On 1/28/18 a deputy received a report of a possible stolen vehicle that had been located in Gilpin

County. The deputy was able to locate the vehicle around the 1900 block of Missouri Gulch Road and

determined it was entered as stolen from Thornton, CO on January 27, 2018. The owner of the vehicle

was contacted and later recovered the car.

On 1/28/18 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a male party came to the visitation window for a visit with

a current inmate and was found to have an active warrant.

On 1/28/18 at approximately 8:26 p.m., a deputy conducted a welfare check on a male party sitting

in a vehicle located in the Grand Z parking garage. The male party was later found to have an active

arrest warrant and was placed under arrest.

On 1/28/18 a deputy contacted a male party in the Century Casino who was reported to be selling

drugs. The party was later arrested and booked into Gilpin Jail for violation of a protection order and

possession of drug paraphernalia.

On 1/29/18 a deputy assisted CSP on a traffic stop in Black Hawk. The driver was later arrested for

driving under the influence of alcohol.

On 1/29/18 at approximately 8:53 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Gregory

Street, Central City, for expired number plates. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s

license and was issued a citation.

On 1/30/18 at approximately 7:49 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Gregory for

not having a readable plate. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s license or proof of

insurance.

On 1/30/18 at approximately 10:45 a.m., a Gilpin deputy took a report of drug paraphernalia. The

18 year old female was cited.

On 1/31/18 at approximately 8:55 a.m., a male party arrived at the Sheriff`s Office lobby to turn

himself in on a warrant. A deputy located an active warrant and the male party was booked into the

Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.

On 1/31/18 at 10:17 a.m., deputies responded to the Century Casino on found drugs. Drugs were

found as an employee was going through the lost and found.

On 1/31/18 at approximately 3:50 p.m., a deputy took a report of a trespass and theft at a

residence in mid-county. A report was taken.
