poetryDark Silhouette of Shadows

By Aiden Castleberry, 5th Grade

All darkness is born to light

and all dark power comes from the bright

for the light will be welly restrained

thou who brings it will be in pain

pitch black and midnight will feed off thou’s power

by sorrow and guilt thou will be showered

blue will be black and red will be gold

darkness will mark thou with sadness to bold

for thou will be falling and falling to doom

this all will become a very big BOOM

fire with water most will say

but that is as true as walls eating hay

for fire with fire to get through the night

darkness with darkness will bring back the light.

Dark shadows pasted to the walls

how much longer until all else falls

how many minutes on the clock will tick

until both worlds collide with a flick

how many worlds will be left

when the war goes into depth

how many shadows and how many men

what will connect now from back then

always will be forever

and not will be never

time will be in vain

can we banish the copies again?

Sirens will wail people will scream

no one will escape the terrifying beam

of ghastly figures from pure night

nothing there to bring back the light

sorrow will bring horror and horror will bring dusk

anything to escape the shadows with tusks

copies of all living things alike

the pain will hurt as if a spike

until a flame a very new fight

there will be no way to bring back the light.

RED

By Seraph Kelly, 5th Grade

RED IS THE COLOR OF

THE BLOOD THAT

DRIPS FROM A

FRESH PAPER

CUT

IT’S

FALL OUT BOY

IT’S SILENCE

IN A LOUD ROOM

IT’S THE MOST SCREECHY NOISE

EVER

RED THROWS THE FLAME

ON THE FIRE

IT’S NO COLOR IT’S A NEWLY STRUCK

MATCH IT’S THE GLARE IN

YOUR EYE

ITS RED

The Mirror of Beauty

By Violet Rainwater, 5th Grade

Bright as moonlight

images dancing across the shiny surface,

admire your beauty.

Silver, clear, happy,

like a lake’s glistening reflection,

telling magical stories.

Look deep in,

don’t allow any dark feelings,

love your mirror.

Nighttime

By Ezekiel Fitzer

The sun is dodging

the moon,

and the stars

are it’s army

like a shooter with its amory

the sun is dodging

the screeching darkness

by slipping behind the hills

a shining rain drop evaporating

you can hear its screaming shrills.

INK

By Kayla

Landkammer,

I

had

ink

that

was

I

tried

to

drink

the

ink

then

I

couldn’t

think

I

spit

out

the

ink

then

the

sink

was

full

of

stink

Ode to a friend

By Lucille Schalz

5th grade

You may be far

You may be close

You can never be far

Enough To not be my friend

Blondie or brown haired

Tall or short

American or Japanese

You are my friend

You may not be

my Only friend but you’re

One of the best

THE CENTER

By Austin Chareunsouk

5th Grade

Blue is a berry pie

waiting to come out of the oven.

Blue are tears streaming down

my face like sadness.

Blue is a whale at the bottom

of the ocean.

Blue is a blue jay flying

in the clear sky in the daytime.

Blue is me...

Standing in the middle

of a bright blue center.

EDGE OF THE FOG…

By Noah Turner

5th grade

At the edge of the fog,

where all life stands still,,

you’ll meet an old man,

I tell you, you will.

An old willow tree,

dancing in the clouds,

he will be leaning against it,

weary, yet proud.

He has a long tale,

ready for telling,

of his years long ago,

I hope you are willing…

Imagination

By Elise Brodsky

5th grade

A dream is a new door to open

A thought is the world unknown

A rainbow is a bridge

if you choose to follow it up

all the way

A harmony…..

A harmony is a friendship

A path is a choice

A decision

But your conscience shows you the way

Evergreen

By Megan Hess

5th grade

Tall and slim

Waving in the wind

Branches covered in a coat of green

Dancing and twirling

But if they dance too hard

they fall over in exhaustion

ECLIPSE

By Aurora Schroeder

5th grade

What if the sun and moon are young love?

What if they are just chasing to get one another but rarely win?

But…

once in awhile they get to see one another and kiss.

We feel the joy because we are watching.

Blazing soul

By Madalyn Bruner

5th grade

there is a fire inside of me

telling me what to do

making me angry

and helping me burn my way

through life

there is a fire inside of me

i cannot put it out

for it is my life fire

and as long as it is burning

so am i

Time sounds

By Natale Sclove

Ding-----

The clock’s rhythm has just begun

Dong----

Ding----

Dong----

Repeating rhythm

Inner Reflection

By Skylar Abookire

5th Grade

Look in the mirror

What do you see

A little bit of you

But much more is to seek

The outside is great

But what is the key

The key

To you and me

Your passions

Emotions

Feelings

And love

Love is the key to unlock magic

you know

So now when you

Look in the mirror what do you see?

Maybe a little bit of you

But maybe

Just maybe

You will see much more

After talking to me

Morning Dew

By Ande Hammers

5th grade

Teardrops woven

in a spider’s web

Like petite mirrors

gifted to plants and flowers.

See through pearls

scattered upon

the pale morning trees.

A miniature rainstorm,

only to fall

when stars shine bright.
