On Saturday July 3, 2022, at approximately 15:20 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a female who had an injured ankle on the Devil’s Thumb Trail, Boulder County, Colorado.
Nederland Fire Protection District (NFPD), Boulder County Open Space Ranger and members of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMRG) all responded. The party was contacted about two miles up the trail. The 31-year-old female from Westminster, Colorado, was able to start hiking down with assistance from two NFPD. They were met by RMRG who then gave her a ride out on their UTV to the shuttle bus stop. She declined any further medical treatment and left with her friends.
Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Nederland Fire Protection District, Boulder County Open Space Rangers and members of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
