Donald J. Walsh, age 53, of Leadville, CO, and originally Grosse Pointe Woods, MI passed away October 6, 2018 after a month in the hospital. Beloved son of John and Marjorie who both preceded him in death. Younger brother of Elaine (Steve) Upshur, Terry (Lorrie) Walsh, Jane (Randy) Stephenson, and Mary Beth (Matt) Victor.
Don is survived by his (still) loving ex-wife Lisa Rodenhizer, several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends who supported him during his illness.
Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Grenada. He graduated from Michigan State as a reluctant packaging engineer. He preferred time alone with his cat(s) and enjoyed the mountains including backpacking, hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking.
A celebration of Don’s life was held during a luncheon Saturday, November 10, 2018.
