In loving memory of Mindy Wales: 11/1/1956 to 2/18/2020

Longtime Black Hawk resident Mindy Wales passed away on February 18, 2020. Born on November 21, 1956, Mindy was born and raised in Queens, New York, to parents Abe and Helen Moskowitz. 

When she turned 19, she moved to Colorado and became a long time resident of Gilpin County where she owned and operated an old time photo studio called Mr. Yellow Bellows in Central City for approximately 10 years. Mindy was a longtime lover of photography and music and had attended school for photography.

She was a loving mother to two sons, Cody and Wyatt. During the last five years of her life, Mindy fought off Metastatic Lung Cancer, to which she eventually succumbed. 

Survivors include sons Cody and Wyatt, siblings Robin Schnapper of Maryland and Lisa Flade of New York. 

Services were held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at The Caribou Room. Her photography was featured as part of the event.
