In loving memory of Garrett Joseph Pfeifer

Garrett Joseph Pfeifer was born of March 19, 1953, in Fargo, North Dakota to Raymond Francis Pfeifer and Dolores Eva Wosick. He lived with his family in Moorhead, Minnesota, until June of 1968 when he, his parents and two younger siblings moved to Lakewood, Colorado. There he graduated as class president of the senior class of Alameda High School in May 1971.  He then attended the University of Colorado where he studied physics, French, and computer science. After graduation Garry spent most of his professional career as a SAS programmer for the University of Colorado.

Garrett was an avid bicycler and often biked over sixteen miles to and from his job at the university from his home in Nederland, Colorado. He occasionally biked forty miles on the Peak to Peak Highway. Additionally, Garrett took several European vacations to bicycle across the Alps, England, and the route of the Tour de France bicycle race. He loved soccer and watched games whenever he could. He was also a rare book collector.

In the early 1980’s friends of Garrett’s were moving to England and could not take their Doberman, Cinnamon, with them. Garrett adopted the dog and has had a Doberman or two ever since. His current Doberman, Brandy, was adopted by his brother Guy.

Garry passed away on September 9, 2020. He left behind his siblings Mary Dahl in Moorhead Minnesota, George Pfeifer and wife Sharon in St. Paul, Minnesota , Marcia Pfeifer and her husband Steve Susich in Golden Valley, Minnesota, Guy Pfeifer in Nederland, Colorado, and his nephew Jason and his wife Mindy and daughters in Westminster, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1999 and father in 2001. His brother Gregory died on May 16th of this year.
