The Ned Jazz and Wine Festival, held on August 24 in Nederland, Colorado, was a resounding success, attracting visitors from all over the country. Showcased in Chipeta Park by Boulder Creek, the festival had thrilling energy and a picturesque charm that felt straight out of a Hallmark movie, making it the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Old Baldy and Kiowa Peak, the event aimed to promote Colorado’s vibrant wineries and local artists while raising funds for the Nederland Area Seniors, Inc. (NAS). The festival brought the community together with flowing wine, delicious food, and incredible art, all in support of the town’s senior population.
Attendees arrived on a rainy and cold Saturday, but the sun soon showed up, brightening the atmosphere just in time for the festivities. As the day warmed, visitors mingled with neighbors and met new friends, sampling a wide array of wines from across the Rockies. The festival’s relaxed and friendly atmosphere enabled everyone to connect over their shared appreciation of jazz, fine wine, and beautiful art, making the festival a highlight of the town’s summer calendar.
Folks had the opportunity to purchase unique paintings and pottery from local artists, including Brent Collin Bishop, who has called Nederland home for the past 23 years. His stunning contemporary landscapes, painted in acrylic on canvas, beautifully capture the essence of the area’s natural beauty.
One of the vinous highlights of the festival was the Blood Orange Wine from Denver-based Deep Roots Winery. The sweet Cabernet Franc, infused with the unique flavor profile of Blood Orange, captured the essence of the region’s innovative winemaking. The wine’s popularity was a testament to the quality of the products highlighted at the event.
The success of the Ned Jazz and Wine Festival has set the stage for it to become a beloved annual tradition, celebrating community, music, and the rich offerings of Colorado’s wine industry, all while supporting the Peak to Peak community.
