Ian Thomas Richard of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 41.

Ian was born on July 2, 1984, in Boulder, Colorado, to Lenore Richard. He spent his childhood in the mountain community of Nederland, Colorado, where he attended Nederland Elementary School and later Nederland Middle-Senior High School.

Ian will be remembered for his striking blue eyes, his artistic talent, and his ability to make people laugh. He had a gift for bringing humor into a room and could often lift the spirits of those around him with his quick wit and infectious smile. He was a creative soul, a great friend, and someone who left a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know him.

Ian loved tattoos, dogs, and spending time with those he cared about most. Family meant everything to him. He shared a particularly close bond with his sister, Alexandra, and treasured the relationships he had with his children, siblings, and extended family.

He is survived by his children, Jaydon Ty Blackburn, Sadie Mae Richard, Mikayla Mae Richard, and Madison Mae Richard; his sisters, Brittany Ploeg, Alexandra Creswell, Erika Null, and Cassandra Creswell; his brothers, Stanley Adam Creswell, Dylan, and Anthony; his father, Eric Creswell; his grandmother, Carol Belcas; his grandfather, Jerry Belcas; and many loving people who were very special to him, including Jennifer Blackburn, Kaley Kirsten, and Jenny Carey. He also leaves behind many other relatives, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Ian was preceded in death by his mother, Lenore Richard; his uncle, Adrian Richard; and his grandfather, Patrick McCarthy.

Though his time with us was far too short, Ian’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter he inspired, the artwork he created, and the love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life honoring Ian Thomas Richard will be held on June 28, 2026, at Castlewood Canyon, 2989 S. State Highway 83, Franktown, Colorado 80126.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 2 p.m. until dark to share memories, celebrate Ian’s life, and remember the laughter, creativity, and love he brought to those who knew him.
