Step into a world of laughter, friendship, and life lessons with the debut of the children’s book Horsing Around in the Town of Gold Hill by jewelry designer and local Colorado resident Amy Fortunato. The book follows the adventures of a horse and a group of animals who learn lessons more valuable than gold. Inspired by the unity and resilience of Gold Hill, Colorado, after the Four-mile Canyon Fire, this book celebrates the spirit of community and the strength found in overcoming challenges. “This book is a lighthearted celebration of where we live, work, and play,” said Amy. “With this book, I aim to inspire kids to view new challenges (and reading) as fun and exciting rather than intimidating.”
In addition to designing jewelry, Fortunato also shares her passion as an art teacher and educator. She has worked closely with children and young adults, nurturing their creativity and imaginations. “All children at one time or another struggle with confidence, worth, discipline, and low self-esteem,” said Amy. “I hope this book offers a gentle nudge for anyone having a difficult time dealing with those setbacks.”
