NEDERLAND — The holidays are when Nederland truly shines, as the restaurants, shops, and streets become full of locals rather than tourists. Harnessed by local talent and community organizers, the community truly comes together to bask in the magic of the mountains and transmutes that special energy into amazing events.
At the Town of Nederland’s annual Holiday Mountain Market, the alchemy of synthesizing Nederland vibes through art, craft, food, drink, music, and merriment, is in full display, as the Nederland Community Center becomes the prime destination for the holiday spirit in the Peak to Peak region.
Just as in years past, the 2025 Holiday Mountain Market will fill the Community Center, featuring a cornucopia of vendors from the region. Each will present unique products and lovingly crafted items, from imaginative art to iconic photography, handmade jewelry, crocheted cuteness, custom clothing, beauty and skin care ointments and lotions, and much more.
The sound of local musicians playing and singing classic Christmas carols will help to transport attendees to a winter wonderland as they shop Nederland’s rooftops and treetops. The skyline will showcase scattered puffs of smoke from roaring fireplaces and wood stoves, around which everyone will gather to be together in the warmth while opening that perfect gift, sourced at the Market.
The smell and taste of expertly prepared food will pervade the area, from hot food served from the Center’s own kitchen, to several local purveyors offering their delicious holiday concoctions. Offerings will include sweet and sour treats and sumptuously savory delights, as well as some frosty and frothy beverages.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to support Nederland’s nonprofit sector at this year's Holiday Mountain Market, as in the past—such organizations as The Nederland Food Pantry, Nederland Community Library Foundation, and TEENS, Inc. have had booths at the market to talk with community members about their goals and efforts.
And of course, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be present, ready to meet with children of all ages and hear their wishlists for the holiday, and even pose for photos. But be sure to catch them at the Holiday Mountain Market before they retreat home on their yak-led sleigh, only to return to Nederland for the upcoming Holiday Lighting Ceremony—and hopefully for Christmas as well.
The Holiday Mountain Market is located at 750 Highway 72 North, and will take place the weekend of December 6 and 7, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
