ALLENSPARK — Welcome to The Hilltop Guild, where strangers become friends, friends become family, and creativity weaves a community together.
The guild is not a gallery, but worth a stop during The Mountain-Ear’s Studio Tour, as the tour coincides with the guild’s Fall Festival.
The roots of The Hilltop Guild date back to the 1930s, when a group of mountain women began gathering in their homes to mend clothing, share companionship, and create a lasting sense of community.
In 1954, the guild moved into the now more than 100-year-old log building, the Kelley House, a former roadside attraction and fox farm. The Kelley House now houses the numerous large looms of the Hilltop Weavers, showcasing wares in the original main room, where chili lunch is available for purchase.
The Hilltop Guild is located at 18720 Highway 7, Allenspark. You can call them at 802-280-5032 or visit hilltopguild.com to learn more. You can find them on Facebook at @The Hilltop Guild.
