Performance Botanicals
Molly Turner has operated Performance Botanicals out of her home in Nederland since October 2020. She’s “always been passionate about holistic and natural paths of healing” and has focused on the plant world since childhood. During her pregnancy, she learned how the use of Western herbs could create an amazing outcome, so “I determined to learn and study all that I could about western herbalism.”
In 2014 she received formal clinical herbal education from the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism with a focus on holistic nutrition.
Turner meets with individuals one on one at her home clinic and apothecary to address their personal health needs. “I formulate herbal and nutritional protocols that are specific to the person’s health goal and needs. I am also an avid forager, and many of the healing herbs that I use in formulas, like herbal teas, are harvested from my property or right here in the mountains. I’m really excited about the abundant rose hips this year.”
As well as seeing clients and preparing their personal herbal formulations, she is also working on creating an herbal skin care line for “everybody that moves,” she states. Turner adds that “I’m very excited for my anti-chafing balm that I hope to have out in the world very soon.”
According to Turner, “Nourishment is at the heart of what I do. I strive to work in connection with the earth and my clients. I focus on building up and nurturing both the client and the earth.” She focuses on working one on one with people as a clinical herbalist. “Many herbalists will be happy to offer advice if asked,” she says, “but I will sit with you for a very in-depth dive into your health and history and make a sustainable herbal and nutritional plan that we are both confident in for a positive healing trajectory.”
Turner notes that “Western herbalism is a very unique and personal health modality that works…. I can work with you acutely to help you find the herb(s) that are appropriate for what you are experiencing in the moment such as allergies, and I can also help you address more chronic health issues.”
Performance Botanicals has an FAQ page, which includes information as to what it is like to work with an herbalist. “I just love formulating herbal medicine for my clients. Every person is unique and different and I get to use professional creativity for each individual herbal formula and health protocol,” she stresses.
“I love my locals here in the Nederland and mountain regions,” she says. She is also available on the tele-health website, doxy.me, which is secure, and permits her to meet with those people who are not locals.
