Julia Shaw, Gilpin County. The Gilpin Axe & Snax project, providing free firewood to local families in need, has just received a very generous donation of roughly eight cords of firewood and we need help processing and delivering. We have created a convenient processing yard at a residence near the Gilpin School and you can pick your own time, even a couple of hours will make a difference. We have already delivered 12 cords to eight households and the list of those in need is growing.
There are lots of ways you can help:
Delivery: If you have a truck or trailer to help with deliveries, we can recruit volunteers to load and unload.
Bucking firewood: If you can use a chainsaw, we need help cutting logs into appropriate lengths for the splitter.
Splitting firewood: We have two mechanical splitters (easy to use) if you can help.
Muscle: Just a little or a lot of muscle to help load and unload.
Please respond to this email axeandsnacks@gmail.com or call Laura Richards at (719) 291-8077 to schedule. Also let us know if you are aware of a family or individual who needs help.
We are very conscious of physical distancing and you must wear a mask!!! Notice in the photo that Laura has one of the gaiter masks the Mountain Mask Project made for the Gilpin School.
