Hayden Hardt-Zeman has been helping at The Mountain-Ear since he could walk. He has helped insert and label papers in the summers and has been part of the newspaper family for over a decade.

He has also written a few articles for the paper and loves to take photos for the paper.

He is supportive of his mom when she works all night and makes sure she eats dinner.

Over the past decade, Hayden has learned about circulation and enjoyed getting to know people at the stores that carry The Mountain-Ear. When he got his driver’s license in November, he took over some of the circulation. He is currently picking up papers in Boulder (in nice weather), and helping label and get them to the Nederland Post Office. He also helps to complete the delivery to all of the stores in the Nederland and Gilpin area.

Hayden was born in Boulder and attended Eagles’ Nest Early Learning Center as an infant and toddler. He has attended Nederland schools since preschool and is a junior at Nederland High School. He loves learning, hanging out with his friends and playing soccer.

Hayden is excited for the future of the newspaper and hopes to be a senior intern next year.

When asked what he does for the newspaper, he replied, “Sometimes I help with stuff.”
