Harvest House adapts to the pandemic

Mindy Leary, Nederland. The ongoing pandemic is making business owners get creative to stay safe and remain open. Stacy Johnson, owner of Harvest House, is doing just that by instituting online ordering and a walk-up window in the near future.

“I don’t think it’s the time now to have folks in and out of the shop, so we’ll try to steer people towards an online ordering platform with a menu system out front. We’ll have to develop some sort of menu system and we’re having an ATM installed so that everything can happen on the front porch,” said Johnson.

Harvest House is Nederland’s only locally owned and locally grown dispensary and originally opened in January 2010 as a medical marijuana dispensary. Johnson prides his business on small batches and providing customers with a sensory experience of “smelling the jar.”

“I am re-envisioning Harvest House in a response to Covid and endeavoring to make our staff and customers as safe as possible.Within a week, we will move to having all sales transactions happening at our new walk-up window. We will have walk-up ordering, but will be steering folks to our online ordering platform”.

One of the things you will find in the very near future is WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) jars of head nuggets. Choose the jar you want online and come pick it up. They offer topicals, concentrates and edibles in addition to flower.

“No disappointments. No Excuses. Real old school headies by the jar,” said Johnson.

Exact payment is necessary as they will not be providing change. They ask that you count your payment in front of your budtender and place it in the box. Johnson hopes these measures further protect his employees and his customers.

Harvest House is located at 211 S. Bridge Street in Nederland. Their website is harvesthouse.farm and their telephone number is 303-258-3144. Pickup hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily with online orders being accepted until 5:30 p.m.
