Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. The Nederland Panthers XC team, the Harriers, traveled to Colorado Springs to participate in the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede on Thursday, August 21, a pre-state race; a chance to scope out the course for the finale of the season.
With four runners finishing, the Nederland girls' runners came in fifth place overall of 44 girls. Teams participating in the Stampede were Telluride, Heritage Christian, Rocky Ford, Shining Mountain, Nederland, Wiggins, Rye, and Evangelical Lutheran.
Sophia Lindenberger was the team's first finisher, coming in 12th. She has consistently improved with each season and is looking strong for this one.
The next meet will take place this Saturday, September 6 at Lyons, which begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Nederland boys did not score as a team as they had only two runners to put up points. James McNamara came in 16th, continuing his solid consistent effort on the trails.
