January 29th 2016 marked the Golden Wedding Anniversary for Jackson Dorr of Sacramento California and Linda Zillig of Buffalo New York.
Jackson’s paternal grandmother, Leah Bean, was born in Nederland, Colorado in 1890. In an amazing coincidence, with no knowledge of the ancestral history, their firstborn son and his family moved to Nederland about 2 years ago.
In 1963 Jackson and Linda got acquainted as pen pals when he was in the US Air Force stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi and she was a high school student in New York. In 1964 he hitchhiked cross country from Sacramento in order to meet her. The spark was lit and the rest is history. They married in Williamsville, New York (Near Buffalo) on January 29th 1966.
In June of 1966, he left the Air Force and the newlyweds moved to his hometown of Sacramento. In 1967 he accepted a position working at the Air Force Satellite Tracking Station on Guam. They lived on Guam for almost 13 years and had 2 sons. November 1979 marked their return to ‘the states’ where they settled in Sunnyvale, California (Near San Jose). He continued working for the space program and she was a contract computer programmer and project manager. It was during this time that they welcomed their 3rd son into the world.

They have since become residents of central Florida as he pursues new product development and maintains his insurance brokerage. Their 3 sons have blessed the family with 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Regards can be addressed to them at PO Box 560654, Rockledge FL 32956.
