It’s about time. We’ve let the administration and Senate continue to put coal in our stocking! But our next generation has been composing a list. How about a Green Christmas?
We hear that kids aren’t getting the full reality of climate change from their textbooks, and there is no General Education Requirement of a specific course on the climate change danger in universities. Personnel in news media, print and digital publishers, school boards, libraries and governments take little responsibility for correction.
There is a new children’s book called The Tantrum That Saved the World by Michael Mann and Megan Herbert. Professor Mann is a distinguished professor of atmospheric science at Penn State. The book is available from Save the World Books, in Europe. So maybe order for next year.
Locally we have A Family Guide to Disruptive Climate Change and Nature’s Greenhouse for middle school and older kids at local libraries or on Amazon.
Then some relaxed general reading in front of the fire. (See photo) It is renewable energy; water a lodgepole, it takes a while. Or a bit of video history of how we got in this mess and what to do about it by Professor Alley at Penn State in the first few chapters of Earth: The Operator’s Manual (available on YouTube).
And to all a very GREEN night!
