Dear Editor and Community,

Excerpts from a letter to Boulder County Commissioners:

I cannot believe you have given the go ahead for this Gross Dam Expansion project.

I am in shock, disbelief and HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT at your decision as well as your misrepresentation of other groups, like TEG saying they encouraged settlement and a go ahead when they didn’t.

You had to be in denial of so many facts and projections of impact! You have to be ignoring the realities of water in Colorado! This project contributes heavily to the Climate Crisis in many ways!

Your decision is a BIG MISTAKE, after your careful and caring holding off for many years on this project going ahead. What happened to change course?

I am responding as an elder in this community and someone who has lived in the mountains nearly 30 years and as an Earth and Climate activist.
