Dear Editor,
Gilpin County is a great community of generous and compassionate volunteers who desire to work together to strengthen and unify our county.
The Board of Directors of Ermel’s Thrift Store would like to thank the Peak to Peak Rotary and the community members who donated to the clothing drive for Ermel’s. Several Rotary members heard that we were low on stock as we prepared to set up the clothing room with spring/summer clothing. They quickly planned a clothing drive in mid-county where it would be convenient for residents to drop off bags and boxes of clothing.
Wow! That event was very successful and a blessing to Ermel’s. We appreciate every Rotary member who organized the event and those who volunteered that day to collect the donations and deliver them to Ermel’s. We are also very grateful for everyone who dropped off donations.
Ermel’s Thrift Store is a community outreach program of the St. James Church of Central City. It is run by volunteers and all profits are used for helping Gilpin County residents in need of emergency financial assistance. This store is located at 111 Eureka Street, across from The Teller House in Central City. We take donations and answer our phone (303-582-1797) on Mondays 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and when we are open on Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Besides clothing, we have a wide variety of home décor, household items, kitchenware, personal care products, jewelry, tools, toys, sports, outdoor and pet items and office supplies. Please come by to shop (and donate) and meet our wonderful volunteers!
