Dear Editor,
I am writing today to share my extreme thanks and gratitude. Nederland has had many changes over the last several years yet this community and heart is still overwhelmingly beautiful.
My daughter, Kylie Harrington, is a lifetime rider and horse lover. This year she was lucky enough to have found Cowboy Dressage through a suggestion from Sheila Ranegar. Sheila also helped coach her in ways I could not and was an invaluable support to her as a teacher. This sport has boosted her self-esteem, given her goals, brought her a sense of pride and accomplishment and been a ton of fun!
When Regionals (the region is Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming) came around I was not going to be able to take her due to expenses. Kylie was determined to go and went to local businesses and asked for sponsorship to help cover the cost of her going to Pueblo.
She was able to cover a large portion of her expenses because of the generosity of many people and local businesses who supported her.
She won Junior High Point Champion in both Open Court and Challenge Court. She said, “It was just a small step on the road to my dream, but it meant the world to be able to take that step”.
I am blown away at the kindness and love I felt from everyone who helped support. I was brought to tears more than once. They say it takes a village to raise a child. I am very lucky to have my child being raised in this village.
Deep gratitude to the following supporters: The Deli at 8236, B & F Mountain Market, James DeWalt Photography, Nederland Feed and Pet, Peak To Peak Imports, High Performance EarthWorks, Women’s Quest, Mountain Peoples CO-OP, Boogie Records, Blue Owl Books, Bobby’s Budex, Mary and Burr Wilcox, Eric Bernstorff, Debbie Gaffney, Sheila Maloney, and Sharlene Kesler.
