GOLD HILL â Gold Hill School recently welcomed community members, families, and neighbors for an evening that served as both a school open house and a holiday celebration.
The event had the feel of a town gathering. Children and adults worked together at craft tables, making holiday candles and winter fairies using natural forest materials. Students baked dozens of cookies, and many families brought additional treats to share, creating a lively cookie exchange and plenty of food for everyone. Door prizes added to the festive atmosphere.
Former teachers and students attended the celebration, adding to the sense of continuity and tradition that surrounds the school. Several alumni arrived with their own preschool-aged children, introducing the next generation to Gold Hill School and reconnecting with a place that remains meaningful to them years later.
While the evening was social in nature, visitors also had opportunities to learn more about the school.
Gold Hill School serves students in grades Kâ5 and uses a multi-age classroom model. The curriculum emphasizes strong foundations in literacy and mathematics, along with experiential learning in science and social studies, outdoor exploration, and the arts. Small class sizes allow students to be supported as individuals.
Gold Hill School has long been closely connected to the life of the town, hosting community events and gatherings in addition to serving local students. The open house and holiday celebration reflected that relationship, bringing together past, present, and future members of the school community in a shared space.
Gold Hill School is located at 890 Main Street, Gold Hill, Colorado. The school can be reached at 720-276-8688.
