The sun hung high in the sky and the warmth of a summer day crept across the town of Gold Hill on Sunday, June 30. About forty inspired people gathered to walk in the Gold Hill Pride Parade.
The parade boasted more participants than the last few years. Organizer Mary Claire Mulligan said, “We started our parade a few years ago, and this year was our biggest and best yet. We’re happy to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ family and friends.”
Gold Hill Store is always the starting place. Winding their way through town for about 20 minutes the energetic group walked, twirled and held hands. The feelings of love, kindness, and acceptance radiated from the participants. The parade ended where it started, back at the Gold Hill Store for a community gathering.
