Archer O’Brien, Gilpin County. Despite all of the obstacles caused by the pandemic, a group of students has risen to breathe life into a high school theatre club. Only formed a little over a month ago, the club already has over 15 members and is only just opening up to the public. They also have 5 officers hard at work on their plans: President, Aucklynn Sacco, Vice President, Archer O’Brien, Secretary, Katelyne O’Sullivan, Historian, Emily Williams, and Treasurer, William Hunt.
Their adult sponsor, Sina Hirsch, a vocal coach who lives down the mountain, has graciously dedicated her time and resources to help the group get started. She helped the students pick out two plays that are currently planned for this spring: “Everyman in the Circus of Life” and “The Bible in 30 Minutes or Less”. For any Gilpin high schoolers interested, auditions for the plays will be on March 20. Sina can be contacted by students through her email: stagesimprov@gmail.com.
