Kaeden Lee LaFone has been attending Gilpin School since the second grade. Some of Kaeden’s earliest memories are war games at recess, first snow dodgers, and innocent pranks among friends.

Kaeden has been active in various sports and activities, including basketball and baseball during the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. He also participated in theater in the tenth and eleventh grades and wrestling in the twelfth grade.

He was also a member of the National Honor Society in the eleventh and twelfth grades and works at Nederland’s B&F Mountain Market. His favorite subject in school was history, and his favorite teacher was Mr. Rouse.

Kaeden has appreciated many things about his academic experiences, including building many friendships. Kaeden would like to acknowledge Zach Gebhart for making life better during high school.

Kaeden shares that fear of failure is what has kept him academically motivated. Family and hard work are important to him. “I have loved being able to have adult responsibilities while still having the comfort of school, he shares.”

He will miss joking with friends and playing baseball. A piece of advice he’d like to offer students still attending Gilpin School is to respect all teachers. Kaeden has thoroughly enjoyed his time in high school.

Kaeden has received a Black Hawk Scholarship, and after graduation, he plans to pursue a career in the military and police force. Congratulations, Kaeden!
