Have you ever been to the Gilpin Winter Arts Festival? No? Well, make sure to think about it for next year. The event starts when you walk in the doors to the Gilpin Rec Center. On your left, there was a booth of pet supplies including leashes, toys, towels and more. Everything our mountain pets need. The money spent at this booth goes towards Charlie’s Place, our local animal shelter.
Walking out to the right, you see the kitchen which has many people preparing to serve chili. The chili supports the High Country Auxiliary, which supports the Timberline Fire Department.
Traveling down the stairs (or the elevator), you can walk into the studio, which hosts walls full of art created by Gilpin County School students. Then, a-ha, the gym. The gym is full of tons of great goods. There were incredible baked goods, pillows, crochet and knit items, resin art, toys, trinkets, and my favorite booth, the freeze-dried candies (specifically the skittles).
The fair definitely has something for everyone, and with holidays just around the corner it’s a perfect way to get all the gifts you could ever need, in one place.
We hope to see you all at next year’s event and wish you and your family a happy holiday.
