Dear Editor,

The Gilpin County Food Bank & Department of Human Services would like to extend the opportunity for you to help those in our community who could use an extra hand this Holiday season. We are sponsoring a food and gift drive.  You can help by:

Asking for a wish list of a child (16 & under this year) – wish lists will be available starting November 20. Gifts are due in our office by December 18.

Donating stocking stuffers for kids 12 & under (also due December 18).

Donating food. Thanksgiving food by November 20, 3:30 p.m. and Christmas food by December 18, 3:30 p.m.

Donating money that would go for gifts for children or food for families.

Volunteering. We definitely can use help on: 

November 23 (9 a.m. – 11 a.m.)

November 24 (1:30 p.m.– 4 p.m.)

December 18 – December 19 (various times)

December 21 (9 a.m. – 11 a.m.)

December 22 (1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

December 28 – December 31 (flexible hours) – going through our 9 Cares Donations

If you want a Thanksgiving and/or December Holiday box, please RSVP.

Regular Food Pantry Thursdays, November 5, 12, 19 from 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. as drive thru.

Thanksgiving boxes will be available Tuesday, November 24 from 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. as drive thru.

Regular Food Pantry Thursdays, December 3, 10, 17 from 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. as drive thru.

December boxes will be available Tuesday, December 22, from 1:30 p.m.– 4 p.m. as drive thru.

There will be NO food pantry the week of December 28 - January 1.
