Emily Pleier, Gilpin County. Gilpin wrestlers headed to Limon, Colorado, for their biggest tournament yet. With many larger schools and a high level of competition, the boys worked hard. To start off the day, freshman, William Siegrist had a match against Marcus Schriner from Simla High School. William scored four points in the match; his first ever high school points. Sophomore, Kamron Brewer earned his first win against Shaun Lynch from County Line High School. Which was followed up by a close and tough battle against Kellen Kappel from Limon. Kamron was trailing behind in points in the third period, but ended up winning by a pin as time expired, eliminating Kappel from his own tournament. Kamron grabbed another win against Evan Alder of Byers winning by fall. Kameron finished top six in a weight class of 20 wrestlers. The boys are back at practice getting ready for their last tournament before winter break that will be held at Sheridan High School.
