On Saturday, June 10, 2023, the Gilpin CSU Extension held their annual plant sale.
Plants ranged from indoor houseplants, to outdoor perennial plants, shrubs, and bushes.
According to Gilpin CSU Extension Director Jennifer Cook, “We made 53 sales. From just the plants sold (not seeds or pheromones) we raised $626. This money is used for upkeep in the community garden and demonstration garden, as well as expenses for our Master Gardener volunteers.”
The website states, “The CSU Extension in Gilpin County helps mountain residents improve their quality of life by offering a website, classes and programs that provide unbiased, research-based information on forestry, wildfire, wildlife, mountain gardening, noxious weeds and many other issues. Through our 4-H programs, we help youth develop life skills through leadership opportunities.”
