On 3/1/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the 700 block of Mountain View Drive for a report of a vehicle theft in progress. The vehicle was found intact and no one was in the area. A case report was later completed.

On 3/2/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to the 700 block of Mountain View Drive on the report of a home invasion with four ghosts. A male party at the residence sliced his finger with a hunting knife attempting to defend himself against the ghosts. The male party was later transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

On 3/2/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle that did not have license plates. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court and the vehicle was released to a passenger who had a valid driver’s license. 

On 3/2/21, Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to a casino on a party that had been previously 86ed and was currently on property. It was later learned that the party had active warrants for his arrest. The deputies arrested the party on the warrants and charges related to the incident. The party was transported to the Gilpin County Jail and booked into the facility.

On 3/3/21, Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 119 and Douglas Mountain Road to assist Colorado State Patrol. A report was taken.

On 3/4/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a possible fraud to be handled by phone. A case report was completed.

On 3/4/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to conduct a welfare near the 8000 block of Tolland Road. A party was found deceased, and an investigation has been opened.

On 3/5/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Coyote Motel on a report of criminal mischief. The deputy observed writing throughout the motel room on the walls and a lamp that was broken. A report was completed. 

On 3/6/21, Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a party residing on Ronnie Road that an unknown suspect attempted to gain unemployment benefits using his personal identifying information. A report was taken. 

On 3/6/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to Ronnie Road and Elliot Lane on the report of a dog bite. A report was completed.

On 3/6/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to Roy’s Last Shot on a report of an in progress disturbance. Later, a party was arrested and issued a summon then released.  

On 3/7/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a suspicious person/ vehicle at the location of 661 Highway 46 (Base Camp). A report was completed.

On 3/7/21, a Gilpin County deputy was following directly behind a vehicle when he observed it weaving. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver had a warrant for his arrest, a suspended license and was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was issued a summons.

On 3/8/21, a Gilpin County deputy was performing stationary traffic enforcement at mile marker 2.5 on Highway 119. A summons was issued for no plates and DUR-HTO and proof of service was completed.

On 3/8/21, a Gilpin County deputy performed a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Hwy 119.  A summons was issued and a case report completed.

On 3/8/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a property damage accident on Main Street and Bridge Street in Central City.  A case report was later completed.

On 3/9/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was later arrested for DUI.

On 3/9/21, a Gilpin County deputy was performing stationary traffic enforcement at mile marker 3 Highway 119. A traffic stop was conducted and a summons and proof of service was issued.

 

On 3/9/21, a Gilpin County deputy was patrolling the area of mile marker 4 on Highway 119 when they observed a silver SUV traveling southbound on Highway 119 with their headlights off, a traffic stop was conducted, and the person was later arrested and released for DWAI.

On 3/10/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted motorist assist at approximately mile marker 10 on Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for several traffic violations and a report was later completed.

On 3/10/21, a Gilpin County deputy received a call for a welfare check. The deputy spoke with the party and a report was completed.

On 3/10/21 at approximately 4:52 p.m., a deputy responded to a motor vehicle crash in Central City. A report was completed and one of the drivers was issued a summons.

On 3/11/21, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Coyote Motel. The male party in the vehicle had an active warrant for his arrest and was in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. The male party was issued a summons for possession of meth and paraphernalia and was not arrested for the warrant as the jail would not accept custody, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

On 3/11/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Grand Z Casino on the report of found drugs. A female party was later identified and was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The female party was also issued a summons for possession of a controlled substance.

On 3/13/21, a Gilpin County Deputy observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Gregory St with an expired temporary plate.  A traffic stop was conducted on level 4 of the Century parking garage and a summons was issued.

On 3/13/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to mile marker 7.5 on the Central City Parkway on the report of a non-injury two vehicle motor vehicle crash. A party was issued a criminal summons and a report taken. 

On 3/15/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to Beaver Road on a disturbance between neighbors. A case report was completed.

On 3/15/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle without registration. The driver was found to be driving on a revoked license and had an active warrant for his arrest. No arrest was made because of Covid restrictions. The driver was issued a summons.

On 3/16/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in front of the Grand Z Casino. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license.

On 3/16/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons and a report was later completed.

On 3/17/21, a Gilpin County deputy took a property damage accident report located at Church Street. and 1st High Street. A state accident report was completed.

On 3/17/21, a Gilpin County deputy took a phone report of a credit card fraud, which occurred at the Z-Stop Gas Station. A suspect was identified and a warrant will be sought.

On 3/18/21, a Gilpin County deputy observed a vehicle crashed into a snowbank in the 100 block of South Beaver Creek Road. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for felony DUI.

On 3/18/21, Gilpin County deputies, Central City fire freighters, and Gilpin Medics were dispatched to Level 1 of the Grand Z parking garage on the report of a male party who had overdosed on OxyContin. The party was transported to the hospital and a report taken. 

On 3/18/21, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of a traffic complaint. The offender was issued a traffic summons.

On 3/18/21, Gilpin Ambulance, Timberline Fire and a Gilpin deputy responded to an address off Silver Road, on the report of a deceased male party. Upon arrival, one male party was discovered to be deceased. There was not any evidence to support the death was suspicious in nature.

On 3/20/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Lodge Casino to assist Black Hawk Police Officers with an incident. Black Hawk Police arrested the suspect and the Gilpin County deputy later completed a case report.

On 3/20/21, a party, who resided in the 500 block of Old Hughesville Road called the sheriff’s office to report that she received a letter advising her that her personal information may have been exposed in a security breach at her bank. A report was taken.

On 3/20/21, the Gilpin County Sheriff’ Offices took a report from a party who reported that another person had piled snow in the middle of the roadway on Rocky Ridge Road and Sun Flower Drive. Deputies initially took a report and assisted with moving the snow.  Later deputies were called back when the party began to pile the snow in the middle of Rocky Ridge Road again. Deputies mediated between the two parties and were able to resolve the situation.

On 3/20/21, a Gilpin County deputy took a phone report of unemployment fraud. A report was taken and the reporting parties had already filed a fraud report online with the state. 

On 3/21/21, a Gilpin County deputy stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The driver was found to have a revoked license and a warrant for his arrest. No arrest was made; however, a summons was issued.

On 3/21/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a head-on motor vehicle accident located near the 4000 block of the Central City Parkway. 

On 3/22/21, The Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a county resident who was notified by his employer that a fictitious unemployment claim had been received from the Colorado Department of Labor on his behalf. A report was filed with that state-level agency in accordance with current practices and a fraud report was taken by our agency for documentation.

On 3/22/21, a Gilpin County deputy was informed by dispatch that there was a pending call of a report of fraud that occurred at 191 Ronnie Road that can be handled by phone. A report was completed.

On 3/23/21, a Gilpin County deputy working at the Gilpin County Jail arrested a male party on two Gilpin County warrants.

On 3/24/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license.

On 3/25/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a report of a stolen trailer in Central City. A report was later completed and the trailer was entered into the system as stolen.

On 3/25/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a theft that occurred at 400 Eureka Street. A report was completed.

On 3/26/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to contact a party regarding fraudulent credit card charges. The party resides on the 400 block of Mammoth View Lane. An investigation has been opened.

On 3/27/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to a report of a physical disturbance and male party with a possible gunshot wound. It was later determined a domestic violence incident occurred and the suspect shot himself in the head. The suspect was dead on arrival. 

On 3/27/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to an in-progress disturbance located at approximately 321 Gregory Street where people were actively fighting. One party was arrested and a summons was issued. The party was later released to another agency. A report was completed.  

On 3/27/21, a Gilpin County deputy was enroute to their assigned patrol area, when they were rear-ended by a vehicle. BHPD responded and completed an accident investigation. A report was done by the deputy involved.

On 3/28/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to mile marker 0.6 on the Central City Parkway on the report of a non-injury motor vehicle accident with downed power lines in the roadway. A party was issued (criminal summons for driving under the influence of alcohol) and a report was taken.   

On 3/29/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to Wedgwood Drive and Bear Crossing Road, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was reported to have been there at least two days. Gilpin County Public Works reported that the vehicle was blocking the road so that snow plows were unable to pass and clear the road. The vehicle was towed.

On 3/29/21, administration staff at the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office informed the Investigations Section of a party that failed to register as a sex offender and requested an investigation. Case open pending investigation.

On 3/29/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a report of a vehicle rollover at 5800 Highway 119. The sole occupant received medical attention, the scene was photographed and the vehicle towed. A case report was later completed.

On 3/29/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of Gregory Street on a report of a disturbance that had occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. The reporting party did not want to press charges and the suspect could not be positively identified. A case report was later completed.

On 3/29/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of Highway 119 to cover a Colorado State Patrol trooper while the trooper conducted standard field sobriety tests on a driver. A case report was later completed.

On 3/30/21 a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Church Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident. A report was later completed.

On 3/31/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the report of a trespasser at a local business. After contact and assessment, the party was determined to be in need of a mental health evaluation and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A family member was notified.
