On 2-13-16 at approximately 0900 hours, a deputy responded to a residence for a deceased party. The party was confirmed as being deceased. The Gilpin County Coroner responded and the case has been turned over to the coroner`s office.
On 2-13-16 a deputy received a call regarding harassment. All of the information was collected from the victim, and the case is still under investigation.
On 2-13-16 at approximately 1417 hours, a deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle known to be driven by a suspended driver. The deputy confirmed the driver had a suspended driver`s license. The driver was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 2-14-16 at approximately 1445 hours a female party was arrested in the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office located at 2960 Dory Hill Rd, Black Hawk, CO 80422 on a warrant for damaging property issued by the Westminster Police Department. The female party was processed into the Gilpin County Detentions Center without incident.
On 2-14-16 an adult male was found injured, and walking along Highway 46. Two good Samaritans picked up the male and brought him to the sheriff`s office. Investigation revealed the injured male was intoxicated, had broken out windows at his house, and was then involved in a single vehicle traffic accident in the 1500 block of Highway 46. The male was transported to the hospital and later charged with DUI for his involvement in the traffic accident.
On 2-15-16 at approximately 2220 hours a Deputy contacted a male party walking on Highway 119 at approximately mile marker 18.8 unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado 80422. Due to the current weather conditions very windy and cold the male was asked if he needed a ride. The party declined a ride but after the contact was made the deputy cleared the party as he was known from prior contacts. The party came back with a statewide CICJIS warrant, there was no confirmation needed on the warrant as it was active and the party was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County jail. No further action taken.
On 2-16-16 a deputy stopped a vehicle for displaying expired registration. The driver was found to be driving on a suspended license. The driver was issued a summons and given a courtesy ride.
On 2-17-16 at approximately 0900 hours, a deputy in the Gilpin County Jail found that a male party in the Gilpin County Courts had a warrant out of Gilpin County for his arrest. The Deputy took the male party into custody on the warrant, and processed him into the Gilpin.

On 2-18-16 at approximately 1833 hrs a deputy was dispatched to the Century Casino on a theft of a cell phone. Upon arrival the deputy met with security and was told the victim and suspect were no longer on scene. Security provided the deputy with information on both the victim and offender. The victim was located in front of the casino and wished to pursue charges. A report was taken.
On 2-18-16 at approximately 10:13 PM a deputy responded to a R.E.D.D.I. report and eventually stopped the suspect vehicle for a traffic offense. The driver was arrested for the investigation of Driving Under the Influence and booked into the county jail. End of report.
On 2-19-16 a Deputy responded to a property in the west county area on a report of suspicious trash. It was found the trash contained precursor`s to methamphetamine manufacture. An investigation was completed which turned up no suspects. The items were taken for destruction and a report was filed.
On 2-20-16 Gilpin County Sheriff`s Deputies responded to an apartment in Central City on a 911 investigation. It was found a mother and adult son had been involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical confrontation. Neither party wished to pursue charges against the other. The adult son found a different location to spend the night. A report was filed.
On 2-21-16 at approximately 1210 hours, a deputy responded to a wildland fire call in the area of Yankee Hill. The deputy was informed the fire was put out prior to the fire department`s arrival by private citizens. The fire department created a containment line around the burn area to ensure the fire did not reignite and spread. This case has been forwarded to the Investigations Division for follow-up.
