On 10/1/20, at approximately 7:13 p.m., a deputy assisted a trooper with Colorado State Patrol with a case involving an occupied stolen vehicle. A report was generated to document the deputy’s involvement.
On 10/1/20, a deputy contacted an intoxicated male in Black Hawk. The male was given a ride by the Black Hawk Police Department to take a bus home.
On 10/3/20, a deputy stopped a vehicle on the Central City Parkway for speeding. The driver was intoxicated and was arrested for DUI.
On 10/3/20 at 5:43 p.m., a deputy took a report of an attempted vehicle trespass on Powder Run Drive, Central City. No suspect information was found.
On 10/4/20, a deputy completed a certified VIN inspection for a citizen.
On 10/4/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was arrested for several charges including DUI and possession of a controlled substance.
On 10/5/20, at approximately 1256 p.m., a deputy took a report of a lost wallet at the Z-Stop Gas Station, located at 1351 Highway 119, unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was completed.
On 10/5/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Gregory Street, Black Hawk. The driver was issued a summons for traffic violations and a report was later completed.
On 10/6/20, at approximately 12:50 p.m., a deputy took a report of a lost camera in the 14000 block of Highway 119, unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was completed.
On 10/6/20, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a deputy responded to a residence for a burglary and vehicle theft. When the deputy arrived, he learned that several firearms and jewelry were taken from the residence along with a vehicle. The deputy processed the scene and later entered the vehicle into NCIC/CCIC as stolen. A report was completed for the incident.
On 10/10/20, a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway. The motorcycle eluded the deputy at speeds in excess of 100 mph. A suspect was identified, and a warrant will be completed.
On 10/10/20, at approximately 1:08 a.m., a deputy assisted the Black Hawk Police Department by performing an Evidential Breath Alcohol Test (EBAT) using the Intoxilyzer I-9000 and a report was taken.
On 10/10/20, at approximately 1 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a fatal motorcycle crash in the 3000 block of the Central City Parkway. A case report was later completed.
On 10/11/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Spring Street for speeding. The driver was issued a penalty assessment.
On 10/11/20, a deputy completed a certified VIN inspection.
On 10/13/20, at approximately 8:08 a.m., a deputy responded to a Property Damage Only, single Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of Main and Eureka Streets, Central City.
On 10/13/20, at approximately 1:53 p.m., a deputy took a report of lost property from a citizen in Central City. A case report was completed.
On 10/14/20, a deputy responded to the Grand Z Casino located at 321 Gregory Street on a report of a theft. A report was completed.
On 10/15/20, at approximately 4:46 p.m., a deputy was dispatched on a report of a cold burglary. A report was taken.
On 10/16/20, at approximately 10:50 a.m., a deputy took a report of someone losing jewelry while hiking. A report was completed for the incident.
On 10/17/20, at approximately 10:20 a.m., a deputy responded to a residence in Central City on the report of a vehicle trespass. A suspect could not be identified.
On 10/17/20, at approximately 1:58 p.m., a deputy took a report of a theft that occurred in the 100 block of Main Street in Central City. A case report was later completed.
On 10/18/20, at approximately 12:58 a.m., a deputy provided cover for a Colorado State Patrol Trooper located at 1351 Highway 119, Black Hawk. A report was taken.
On 10/18/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Black Hawk. The driver was later arrested for driving while under the influence of a drug.
On 10/19/20, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a deputy was assigned a case of possibly harassment. A report was made.
On 10/20/20, a deputy took a call for a cold burglary that occurred at 209 Eureka St, Central City (Thomas House Museum). A report was completed.
On 10/20/20, a deputy responded to 116 Main Street, Central City on a report of a theft. A report was completed.
On 10/20/20, at approximately 8:50 p.m., a male party came to the Gilpin County Jail to turned himself in on a Gilpin warrant.
On 10/22/20, a deputy received a call regarding a stolen vehicle from the Grand Z parking garage. A suspect has not yet been identified.
On 10/21/20, a deputy was investigating a motor vehicle theft. While looking for the stolen vehicle, the deputy located another stolen vehicle. A suspect was identified.
On 10/21/20, at approximately 1:25 p.m., deputies were checking a suspicious vehicle that they later learned was stolen. While contacting parties in the area, three parties were found to have active warrants. Only one of the parties` warrant was extraditable as the other warrants were not extraditable due to public health concerns. The party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.
On 10/22/20, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a deputy found a vehicle in the 300 block of Gregory Street in Central City, displaying a Colorado license plate that was reported stolen. A case report was later completed.
On 10/22/20, someone turned in a wallet to a deputy. The owner was later found.
On 10/22/20, a deputy located a stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of Missouri Gulch Road, Black Hawk. A report was later completed.
On 10/23/20, a deputy responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with property damage only. A report was completed.
On 10/23/20, a deputy took a phone report of a theft from a residence in the county.
On 10/24/20, at approximately 6:25 p.m., there was a report of a person impersonating a peace officer in Black Hawk. No victims were listed.
On 10/24/20, a deputy was called to assist another agency at the 2200 block of Missouri Gulch Road. An arrest was made, and a report was completed.
On 10/24/20, a deputy took a cold accident report that occurred in the Grand Z parking garage.
On 10/25/20, at approximately 10 a.m., a deputy was called to the 135 block of Nevada Street for a reported vehicle crash. A case report was later completed.
On 10/25/20, at approximately 12:35 p.m., members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office passed along a fraud incident investigation case. The fraud case was turned over to members of the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was identified to include the offender. Charges were filed with the District Attorney’s Office.
On 10/26/20, at approximately 5:18 a.m., the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office was requested by the Colorado Department of Transportation, to tow an abandoned vehicle from the 9400 block of Hwy 119, unincorporated Gilpin County. The vehicle was parked partially in the roadway, hindering snow plowing operations. The vehicle was removed from the roadway as requested. A case report was completed.
On 10/26/20, at approximately 4 p.m., a Gilpin deputy was requested to respond near milepost seven on the Central City Parkway for a person shooting at an elk on private property. A male party was contacted, and the male party was issued a summons for hunting on private property.
On 10/26/20, at approximately 5:05 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the report of a theft located at 271 Rocky Ridge Rd, Black Hawk. A report was taken.
On 10/27/20, at approximately 12 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a hit and run crash where the victim was following the suspect. The deputies later contacted the vehicle with the Black Hawk Police Department. The Colorado State Patrol responded and conducted the investigation. The driver of the suspect vehicle was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
On 10/28/20, at approximately 10 a.m., a deputy completed a Certified VIN Inspection for a resident on Old Dory Hill Road in unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was completed.
On 10/27/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of D Street and Lawrence Street, Central City. The driver was issued a summons for several traffic violations and a report was later completed.
On 10/28/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of animal neglect. An investigation was conducted, and a report was taken.
On 10/29/20, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a deputy made a traffic stop at the intersection of Dory Hill Road and Highway 46 in unincorporated Gilpin County. The driver’s driving privileges were found to be revoked and a case report was later completed.
On 10/29/20, at approximately 8:50 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Nederland to assist the Nederland Police Department with euthanizing a critically injured moose.
On 10/29/20, at approximately 3:08 p.m., a deputy took a theft call. The deputy spoke with the victim and a report was completed for the incident.
On 10/29/20, at approximately 3:17 p.m., a deputy responded to the 100 block of E. High Street in Central City, on a report of a hit and run. A case report was later completed.
On 10/30/20, at approximately 1030 a.m., a deputy found an occupied stolen vehicle. A case report was later completed.
On 10/31/20, a deputy contacted a vehicle on the Central City Parkway. The driver was arrested for DUI and a passenger in the vehicle was issued a summons for violation of a protection order.
