On 12/1/23, at approximately 12:10 a.m., an officer observed a blue Jeep
Wrangler driving southbound at mile marker 5 on Highway 119. The officer observed the blue
Jeep crossing over the yellow dividing centerline 3 times while they were behind it.
A traffic stop was conducted at mile marker 4.5 on Highway 119. The
the driver was arrested for DUI. The driver was later cited and released.
On 12/1/23, at approximately 11:24 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the
Grand Z Casino on the report of a cellular phone theft. No suspects were located and a report was taken.
On 12/1/23, at approximately 12:15 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 Block
of Main Street on the report of a motor vehicle crash with no
injuries. A report was taken.
On 12/1/23, at approximately 12:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of multiple gunshots coming from an apartment at the Gold Mountain Village apartments. A male party was arrested for reckless endangerment, prohibited use of a firearm and disorderly conduct, and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 12/2/23, at approximately 11:11 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a reporting party in regards to an identity theft report. A report was taken.
On 12/2/23, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a Gilpin County Officer took a report of theft, which occurred on Jankowski Drive.
On 12/3/23, at approximately 4:23 p.m., an officer was dispatched
to call a party about a dead dog. After speaking to that party an investigation was
conducted. The dog was found to be alive and well and the reporting party was
told that this matter would be a civil issue.
On 12/5/23, at approximately 12:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to 133
Wallens Place in reference to a welfare check and a report was completed.
On 12/5/23, at approximately 12:05 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 42
Spruce Way in reference to a fraud and a report was completed.
On 12/6/23, at approximately 12:08 p.m., a Gilpin County officer responded to the area of the 100 block of High Country Lane for the report of criminal mischief. An officer arrived on scene and observed rocks had been thrown through several windows on two separate properties. Homeowners were unable to be contacted and a report was made.
On 12/6/23, at approximately 2:51 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy
responded to the Gold Mountain Village apartments for a death investigation. A
report was made.
On 12/7/23, at approximately 2:35 a.m., officers responded to mile
marker 3.5 on Highway 119 to remove a lamp post from the road from a possible motor vehicle crash.
On 12/7/23, at approximately 9:19 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Highway 46 in reference to a Motor Vehicle Accident. A report was taken.
On 12/7/23, at approximately 3:38 p.m., a Gilpin County officer responded to the 100 Block of Evans View Drive for a welfare check. Upon arrival, an open door was discovered and the deputy cleared the residence and found no one inside. A report was made.
On 12/7/23, at approximately 10:00 p.m., an officer was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detentions Center. The Corporal booked in a current inmate for an out of state fugitive warrant without incident.
On 12/8/23, at approximately 3:31 p.m., an officer responded to a truck and deer motor vehicle accident at approximately mile marker 5.8 on Highway 119. The truck was still drivable and the driver was advised to complete a counter report on Colorado State Patrols website.
The deer was put down due to the severity of injuries sustained in the accident.
On 12/9/23, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to the report of a vehicle fire located in the area of mile marker 4.0. A report was taken.
On 12/9/23, at approximately 9:15 a.m., an officer was dispatched to follow-up in reference to an investigation being conducted by another law enforcement agency in the 500 Block of Upper Apex Valley Road.
On 12/11/23, at approximately 12:42 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver had a warrant and was arrested. A summons was issued for items found in the driver's possession. On 12/11/23, at approximately 3:56 p.m., a deputy took a report about an alleged harassment. After an investigation, it was found that no crime had occurred.
On 12/11/23, an officer was flagged down at the Rollinsville Post Office for a party passed out in a running vehicle. Party was contacted and roadsides were administered. Party was arrested for investigation of Driving Under the Influence. A report was made.
On 12/11/23, at approximately 9:39 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Central City on a report of a welfare check. The officer was further advised Black Hawk Police were enroute with a male
party. A report was completed.
On 12/12/23, an officer found a vehicle in the lane of traffic at mile marker 16.5. There was no
one around and the vehicle had no lights on. A tow was called to remove the vehicle.
On 12/12/23, at approximately 2:35 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a possible fraud at the Grand Z Casino.
On 12/12/23, at approximately 9:51 a.m., a Gilpin County officer arrested a female party on a felony warrant in Central City. A report was completed.
On 12/12/23, at approximately 12:10 p.m., an officer received a report of possible identity theft. A report was made.
On 12/12/23, at approximately 2:08 p.m., a Gilpin County officer responded to the Gold Mountain Village apartments for found property. The property was collected and eventually returned to the rightful owner.
On 12/1/23, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a person surrendered himself to the
Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to serve a jail sanction. During the intake, the
person had personal medical supplies which required refrigeration, however, the
medical staff would not accept nor store within the detention facility. The medical
supplies were submitted into evidence for safekeeping.
On 12/13/23, a deputy responded to Central City on a report of a motor vehicle accident property damage only. A report was completed.
On 12/15/23, at approximately 4:11 p.m., a deputy took a report about a potential violation of a protection order.
On 12/16/23, at approximately 3:03 a.m., a deputy responded to assist another
agency in the area of mile marker 1.0 on Highway 119. A report was taken.
On 12/17/23, at approximately 12:03 a.m., officers responded to the report of a suspicious incident located in the 200 Block of Havilah Street Central City. A report was taken.
On 12/17/23, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers discovered a female party
housed in the Gilpin County Jail had multiple warrants. The female party was
arrested for the warrants and booked into the Gilpin County Jail. A report was taken.
On 12/18/23, at approximately 2:03 p.m, Gilpin County Officers of the Rocky Mountain Combined Tactical SWAT team responded to the 100 Block of Rock Knoll Drive for a barricaded male party. A male party was taken into custody.
On 12/19/23, at approximately 11:01 a.m.., a Gilpin County Officer took a report
for a missing person who had been in Central City. A missing person report was completed and filed.
On 12/19/23, at approximately 7:31 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Century Casino on a report of a motor vehicle accident. While enroute, the officer was advised by dispatch that the male party was trying to leave the scene before law enforcement arrived. The officer was further advised the party appeared to be intoxicated. The party was later cited and released. On 12/20/23, at approximately 10:45 a.m., an officer completed a certified Vin inspection for a resident in Gilpin County. A report was completed later.
On 12/21/23, at approximately 5:05 p.m., an officer was performing assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The officer was supervising the distribution of dinner trays when an inmate on suicide watch attempted to move away from his cell with unknown intention and without provocation. Officers were able to restrain and place the inmate back into his cell for continuous observation without further incident. No injuries were reported.
On 12/22/23, at approximately 3:24 a.m., an officer responded to the report of a 911 investigation located in the 200 Block of Havilah Street Central City. A report was taken.
On 12/22/23, at approximately 5:03 p.m., an officer responded to the 800 Block of Rangeview Drive for a suspicious incident. After a brief investigation, it was determined nothing criminal had occurred.
On 12/24/23, at approximately 2:54 a.m., an officer was assisting State Patrol in a road closure due to weather conditions and multiple slide offs. During these duties the officer also assisted in a vehicle accident caused by a driver who tried driving through the closure.
On Sunday 12/24/23, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a Gilpin County Officer assisted Colorado State Patrol on a single vehicle DUI accident at mile marker 13.5 on Highway 119.
On 12/24/23, at approximately 11:07 p.m., an officer responded to the report of a theft at the Century Casino. A report was taken.
On 12/25/23, at approximately 2:03 a.m., officers responded to the report of a disturbance at the Grand-Z Casino. A report was taken.
On 12/26/23, at approximately 9:37 a.m., a Gilpin County Officer was dispatched to a business in Central City in reference to a fraud call. A report was completed later.
On 12/26/23, at approximately 8:24 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a possible wildland fire in the area of 1100 Block of the Robinson Hill Road. Dispatch advised that they received at least five 911 calls of a fire. The fire was located and a report was completed.
On 12/27/23, at approximately 8:00 p.m., an officer working in the jail charged a male party who was refusing to be booked for failing to register.
On 12/28/23, at approximately 3:37 a.m., officers responded to a REDDI Report located at mile marker 2 on Highway 119.
On 12/29/23, at approximately 8:00 a.m., a Gilpin County Officer was dispatched to 2500 Central City Parkway in reference to a motor vehicle crash. A report was completed.
On 12/30/23, at approximately 10:05 a.m., an officer responded to the Century Casino on the report of a $20,000.00 theft. A report was taken. This case is currently under investigation.
On 12/30/23, an officer was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino on a MVA hit and run. A report was made.
On 12/31/23, at approximately 11:59 a.m., a Gilpin County Officer responded to the Gold Mountain Village Apartments for the report of a stolen bike. A report was made.
On 12/31/23, at approximately 1:09 p.m., an officer was dispatched to assist the Broomfield Police Department by conducting a welfare check near the Gilpin/Boulder County line on Rollins Pass Road. A report was taken.
On 12/30/23, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers were performing their assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detention Center. A shakedown was conducted and opioids and a razor blade were found in a male inmate's cell. The male inmate was charged for possession of contraband for the contraband items discovered in his cell.
