On 8/1/20, a deputy assisted Colorado State Patrol with a traffic stop.
On 8/1/20, at approximately 12:32 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino in Central City on a report of a trespass on a vehicle. A report was completed.
On 8/1/20, a deputy contacted a male party associated with a suspicious person call. The male was issued a proof of service and had a warrant for his arrest, however according to the jail policy with Covid, they would not accept custody of him.
On 8/1/20, a deputy was responding emergent to a medical call for service. Upon doing so, the deputy caused minor damage to a county patrol vehicle.
On 8/2/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 5.1 on the Central City Parkway. The driver was cited, and a report was completed.
On 8/2/20, at approximately 5:02 p.m., a deputy responded to a motor vehicle accident on the Central City Parkway. A report was later completed.
On 8/2/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for driving as a habitual traffic offender.
On 8/3/20, at approximately 1 p.m., a citizen reported receiving several unemployment ReliaCards to a deputy of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office.
On 8/3/20, at approximately 11:52 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the 300 block of Gregory St, Central City. The driver was found to have a canceled/denied driver’s license. The driver was issued a penalty assessment and a report was taken.
On 8/3/20, members of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office agreed to photograph evidence and later destroy evidence related to a 2003 DUI case.
On 8/4/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle running a red light. The driver was arrested for DUI.
On 8/5/20, at approximately 12:54 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious incident on Highway 119 and Smith Hill Road, unincorporated Gilpin County. During the investigation one party was taken into custody and two others were issued a Proof of Service. Multiple case reports were completed.
On 8/5/20, at approximately 8 p.m. p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a report of a trespass and public consumption of alcohol. Two male parties associated with the call were found to have active arrest warrants. However, due to the Covi-19 pandemic and current jail policy, neither were placed under arrest at this time.
On 8/6/20, deputies responded to the 3300 block of Bald Mountain Road on the report of a disturbance. The victim stated it was a misunderstanding and did not want to pursue charges.
On 8/6/20, deputies responded to the Grand Z Casino on the report of a disturbance. A male was removed from the casino and issued a proof of service.
On 8/7/20, at 3:13 p.m., a deputy assisted the US Forest Service with a suspicious vehicle. An investigation was initiated.
On 8/7/20, deputies contacted a male that had been involved in a disturbance near the KOA. The male was issued a summons.
On 8/9/20, at approximately 8:42 p.m., a deputy responded to a report of harassment and a report was taken.
On 8/9/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license.
On 8/10/20, at approximately 11:05 p.m., located at the Gilpin County Justice Center, a court clerk made a report of harassment and an investigation was opened.

On 8/10/20, at approximately 5:38 p.m., a deputy was contacted via phone on the report of a protection order violation / harassment. After an investigation, an application for an arrest warrant was submitted and a report was taken.
On 8/10/20, a deputy responded to a shooting complaint approximately one mile west from Highway 119 and Dory Lake Drive. A male party was issued a summons for possession of a weapon while intoxicated.
On 8/11/20, at approximately 12:47 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an assault in progress located in unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was completed.
On 8/11/20, a report was taken regarding criminal mischief to a camper in mid Gilpin County.
On 8/12/20, at approximately 9:36 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a possible Criminal Mischief and Vandalism located on Old Hughesville Road, unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was completed.
On 8/12/20, at approximately 5:56 p.m., a driveway reflector was damaged while a deputy was in route to a call, and a report was taken.
On 8/13/20, a deputy took a report of a cold assault that occurred in Central City. An investigation is underway.
On 8/14/20, A deputy completed a certified VIN inspection for a resident.
On 8/14/20, Gilpin Dispatch aired a REDDI Report northbound on Highway 119. A deputy contacted the vehicle, and the driver was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.
On 8/14/20, a deputy responded to a property damage accident on Eureka Street. An accident report was completed.
On 8/15/20, at approximately 2:48 p.m., a deputy responded to Gregory Street, Central City, on a report of a cold burglary. A report was completed.
On 8/16/20, a deputy conducted a welfare check on a party. The party had an active warrant for their arrest. Party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/16/20, a deputy attempted to contact a speeding motorist. The vehicle eluded the deputy but was contacted a short time later. The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons.
On 8/17/20, at approximately 4:50 a.m., a female party was found to have another warrant while being booked into Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/17/20, at approximately 2:36 a.m., a deputy contacted a traffic stop at the Grand Z Casino parking garage. A female party was taken into custody and a report was taken.
On 8/17/20, at approximately 8:14 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop near mile marker 5.3 on Highway 119, Black Hawk. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for DUI.
On 8/18/20, at approximately 2:42 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Lawrence Street, Central City, on a report of a street light pole down and leaning against a vehicle. A case report was completed.
On 8/18/20, at approximately 3:40 p.m., a deputy took a report of a private property motor vehicle collision involving a county employee.
On 8/18/20, at approximately 9:95 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a welfare check and a report was taken.
On 8/19/20, at approximately 1:48 a.m., a welfare check was conducted on a male party and a report was taken.
On 8/19/20, at approximately 10:13 p.m., deputies contacted a female party walking alongside Highway 119 near mile marker 12. They eventually determined the party was in the midst of a mental health crisis and gravely disabled. Medics with the Gilpin Ambulance Authority transported her to a local hospital for evaluation and care.
On 8/19/20, a deputy took a report of theft and first degree criminal trespass.
On 8/20/20, at approximately 3:10 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of the Central City Parkway for a 911 investigation. A subject was later found to be in possession of other people`s identification documents and financial devices. A case report was later completed.
On 8/20/20, a deputy responded to the Z-Stop gas station on a report of a disturbance in progress. The deputy was unable to locate the disturbance. A report was taken.
On 8/21/20, at approximately 10:57 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a theft at the Grand Z Casino. A report was completed.
On 8/22/20, at approximately 4:08 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a cold assault that occurred in November 2019 and April 2020 on Powder Run Drive, Central City.
On 8/22/20, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a deputy contacted a party on the report of a protection order violation. The violation allegedly occurred on Aspen Way, Black Hawk. An investigation has been initiated, and a report taken.
On 8/23/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop and the driver was arrested for felony DUI.
On 8/24/20, at approximately 10:23 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.
On 8/24/20, a deputy was dispatched to the 700 block of Golden Gate Drive, Black Hawk, for a driver in the middle of the roadway passed out in his vehicle. A DUID investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested. A report was later completed.
On 8/25/20, deputies stopped a vehicle in Central City that was reported for poor driving actions. The driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of drugs and became combative. Deputies were able to arrest the driver and he was processed into the jail on 12 charges.
On 8/26/20, at approximately 1:43 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop and a report was taken.
On 8/27/20, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office deputy was made aware of a possible medical prescription fraud involving an inmate at the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility.
On 8/27/20, a deputy took a report of a suspicious event in Rollinsville.
On 8/28/20, at approximately 11:33 a.m., a deputy responded to a report of harassment on Russell Gulch Road, Central City. A report was later completed.
On 8/28/20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was arrested for DUI.
On 8/28/20, at approximately 11:35 a.m., a deputy responded to mile marker 1 on Highway 119 to assist a Colorado State Patrol Trooper in conducting a DUI investigation. A case report was generated to document the deputy’s involvement.
On 8/29/20, a deputy was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief. A report was completed.
On 8/29/20, deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover in the approximate 400 block of Gregory Street. The driver was arrested for DUI.
On 8/30/20, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a deputy took a report of a road rage issue that took place in the 1300 block of Highway 119 in unincorporated Gilpin County.
On 8/31/20, at approximately 9:47 a.m., a deputy responded to the Grand Z Casino for a drug violation and a report was taken.
On 8/31/20, at approximately 6:50 p.m., a female turned herself in on a warrant at the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office. She was processed into the jail without incident.
