Gilpin County Sheriff’s Report, April 2025 

On 4/2/25, at approximately 11:37 a.m., a deputy took an individual with a known warrant into custody at the Gilpin County Justice Center located at 2960 Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk. The individual was booked into the Gilpin County Detention Facility and a report was taken.

On 4/2/25, at approximately 7:51 p.m., a deputy was on duty and observed a Violation of Protection Order that occurred at the 2900 block of Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk. A report was made and a warrant was requested.

On 4/3/25, at approximately 6 p.m., booking deputies were releasing an in-custody male party who posted his bond on a Weld County case. During the release, booking deputies discovered that Weld County courts had canceled the original warrant and re-issued a second warrant with the updated bonding.

On 4/4/25, at approximately 10:07 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the location of Main and Bridge Streets.

On 4/5/25, at approximately 3:51 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of an abandoned vehicle located in the 900 block of Highpoint Circle, unincorporated Gilpin County. The abandoned vehicle was obstructing the roadway and removed. A report was taken.

On 4/5/25, at 5:17 p.m., deputies responded to the parking garage of the Century Casino in Central City, for a property damage complaint. A report was later taken.

On 4/5/25, at approximately 10:01 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Black Hawk Boulevard, Black Hawk. During the investigation, the vehicle was found to be displaying fictitious number plates. The plates were seized and a report was taken.

On 4/6/25, at approximately 2:29 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance to assist the Black Hawk Police Department at the Monarch Casino, located at 488 Main Street, Black Hawk.

On 4/6/25, at approximately 5:12 a.m., a Gilpin County sergeant assisted the Colorado State Patrol at mile post four, Highway 119, Black Hawk. A report was taken.

On 4/6/25, at approximately 9:28 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a cold assault at the 2500 block of Lump Gulch.

On 4/7/25, at approximately 7:54 p.m., deputies responded to a welfare check located at 440 Powder Run Drive, Gold Mountain Village Apartments, Central City. 

On 4/8/25, at approximately 9:50 a.m., deputies responded to the Gold Mountain Village Apartments for an alleged domestic violence incident. A report was taken.

On 4/9/25, at approximately 11:11 a.m., deputies responded near Wondervu for a medical and a report of a cold assault out of county. A report was taken.

On 4/9/25, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no visible registration. Further investigation revealed the rear license plate had been stolen off of the vehicle. A report was taken.

On 4/9/25, at 3 p.m., while at the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, property was located in the back seat of a patrol vehicle. The property was booked into evidence as found property.

On 4/9/25, at approximately 6:57 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a welfare check located at the 2400 Block of South Beaver Creek Road, Black Hawk. A report was taken.

On 4/10/25, at approximately 9:45 a.m., deputies responded to a physical disturbance located at the 600 block of Lake Gulch Road, Central City. The victim declined prosecution and a report was made. 

On 4/10/25, at approximately 1:04 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at Central City Post Office located at 149 Gregory Street, Central City. A report was made.

On 4/11/25, at approximately 4:12 a.m., deputies responded to emergency tones regarding a disturbance near the 400 block of Powder Run Drive, Central City. A report was made.

On 4/11/25, at approximately 4:25 a.m., deputies were dispatched near the 300 block of Gregory Street, Central City, regarding found property. A report was made.

On 4/11/25, a deputy located a license plate on Dory Hill Road. The deputy later located the vehicle the plate was registered to and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was driving with a revoked license. He was issued a citation and the plate was returned. 

On 4/11/25, at 4:49 p.m., a deputy responded to the Z Casino, located at 101 Gregory Street, Black Hawk, to assist a Black Hawk Police officer with a theft call. A male was later arrested for outstanding warrants by the Black Hawk Police Department.

On 4/12/25, deputies responded to the Century Casino to take a report for property damage. A report was later written.

On 4/12/25, deputies responded to an ATV accident in the Columbine Camp Ground. Deputies arrived and began life saving measures. A report was later taken.

On 4/12/25, at approximately 12:28 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of Highway 46, Black Hawk, on a motor assist.

On 4/12/25, at approximately 1:58 p.m., deputies responded to a vehicle slide-off in the 2800 block of Upper Apex Valley Road, located in Central City. A report was taken.

On 4/12/25, at 7:57 p.m., deputies responded to the Dostal Alley Casino to take a report for harassment. A report was later written. 

On 4/13/25, at approximately 3:53 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance to assist the Black Hawk Police Department at the Lady Luck Casino, located at 340 Main Street, Black Hawk.

On 4/13/25, at approximately 8:36 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 2700 block of Church Placer Road, Central City, on the report of a civil issue. A report was completed.

On 4/13/25, a deputy took a report of damaged equipment located in Central City.

On 4/13/25, deputies responded to a victim who was shot at by another individual. A report was taken.

On 4/13/25, at 8:49 p.m., deputies responded to the Central City Parkway at mile post 5.5, Central City, on the report of a traffic accident. A report was completed.

On 4/14/25, at approximately 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance located at the Gold Mountain Apartments at 440 Powder Run Drive, Central City.

On 4/14/25, at approximately 7:20 a.m., deputies responded to a shooting that occurred on Forest Star Road, in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was made.

On 4/14/25, at approximately 11:36 a.m., deputies responded to a civil issue call in the 2900 block of Dory Hill Road. A report was taken.

On 4/15/25, at 4:46 p.m., deputies responded to the 400 block of Mammoth View Lane, Central City, on the report of a violation of a protection order. The suspect was not located and a report was taken.

On 4/15/25, at approximately 2:25 p.m., a deputy received information regarding a theft.

On 4/15/25, at approximately 2:25 p.m., a deputy received two emails regarding an alleged sexual assault.

On 4/16/25, at approximately 11 a.m., a male party was brought into the Gilpin County Jail for Court-Ordered Prints. Upon clearing the male party via NCIC/CCIC, per standard operating procedure, it was discovered that the male party had an out-of-county warrant for failure to appear with a $50 personal recognizance bond.

On 4/19/25, at approximately 1:38 a.m., deputies were dispatched to an intoxicated party at the Century Casio parking garage, located at 111 Lawrence Street, Central City.

On 4/20/25, at 2:48 a.m., deputies responded to the Monarch Casino, located at 488 Main Street, Black Hawk, to cover Black Hawk Police with a possible harassment, domestic violence call.

On 4/20/25, at approximately 2:40 a.m. deputies were dispatched to an assault in progress call on Virginia Canyon Road, Central City.

On 4/20/25, at approximately 11:35 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 2500 Highway 119 for a suspicious person throwing objects into the highway. A female was transported for a mental health evaluation.

On 4/20/25, a Black Hawk Police officer asked for a report. A report was provided.

On 4/20/25, at approximately 1:06 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a civil issue located in the 600 block of Alps Hill Road, Central City. A report was completed.

On 4/21/25, a deputy hit a leaf spring in the road. A report was completed.

On 4/21/25, at approximately 5 p.m., a fraud occurred at 440 Lawrence Street, Central City. Deputies were made aware on 4/22/25 and a report was taken. The investigation is ongoing.

On 4/22/25, at approximately 1:23 p.m., deputies responded to the 2000 block of Dory Hill Road, on the report of two dogs killing livestock. A report was taken.

On 4/22/25, at approximately 2:59 p.m., at the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, a walk-in report of an anonymous domestic violence incident was taken.

On 4/23/25, at approximately 4:13 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a welfare check near mile marker 3.5, Highway 119, Black Hawk. A report was made.

On 4/23/25, at approximately 6:34 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the area of 100 Gap Road, Black Hawk, on a report of mail in the road. A report was completed.

On 4/23/25, at approximately 7:35 a.m., deputies responded to a motorist assist located at the 0.1 mile marker of Central City Parkway, Central City, in Clear Creek County. The vehicle was able to safely get back onto the road. A report was taken.

On 4/23/25, at approximately 2:30 p.m., mental health hold processing was completed for a defendant in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility, who was on suicide protocol and for whom the courts had ordered his release. The person was transferred to a hospital by emergency medical personnel.

On 4/24/25, at approximately 12:43 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious person located at the 100 block of Wallens Place, in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.

On 4/25/25, at approximately 5:31 a.m., deputies responded to the Lady Luck Hotel, floor 10, to provide emergent cover to Black Hawk Police officers. A report was taken.

On 4/25/25, at 3:02 a.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Missouri Gulch Road and Highway 119 on the report of a traffic accident. Due to staffing, the Colorado State Patrol did not respond and parties were advised to make a counter report. A resident of Gilpin County later called Colorado State Patrol and reported the accident.

On 4/25/25, deputies responded to the Central City apartments and took a report for harassment.

On 4/26/25, at approximately 4:16 a.m., deputies were dispatched emergent to the 100 block of Wallens Place, Black Hawk, for a disturbance in progress.

On 4/26/25, at approximately 8:52 a.m., deputies responded to the 1000 block of Central City Parkway for a single vehicle accident. A report was taken.

On 4/26/25, at approximately 2:31 p.m., a deputy attempted a traffic stop for reckless driving at approximately 11000 Highway 119. The sport-bike eluded deputies. A report was taken.

On 4/26/25, at 4:19 p.m., deputies responded to mile post 5.8 Highway 119, Black Hawk, on the report of a traffic accident. Deputies assisted officers from the Black Hawk Police Department and troopers with the Colorado State Patrol.

On 4/26/25, deputies responded to the 2200 block of Missouri Gulch Road, unincorporated Gilpin County, for a report of trespass. A report was later taken.

On 4/27/25, at approximately 1:23 a.m., deputies responded to the Lady Luck Casino parking garage, located at 340 Main Street, Black Hawk, to assist Black Hawk Police with contacting a suspect in a felony domestic violence call. A male suspect was taken into custody without incident. A report was completed.

On 4/27/25, at approximately 1:36 a.m., deputies responded to the Ameristar Casino, located at 111 Richman Street, Black Hawk, to provide assistance to Black Hawk Police with a male party possibly experiencing a mental health crisis.

On 4/27/25, at approximately 3:26 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 120 Main Street, Black Hawk, to provide routine cover for Black Hawk Police.

On 4/27/25, at approximately 9:55 a.m., deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 7500 block of Virginia Canyon Road. A report was taken.

On 4/28/25, at approximately 3:50 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries located at the 100 block of Main Street, Central City. A report was taken.

On 4/30/25, at approximately 10:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a parking complaint located near Packard and Gregory Streets, Central City. A trailer was removed, the owner cited, and a report was made.

On 5/1/25, at approximately 10:25 a.m., a deputy was made aware of a trespass that occurred on 4/21/25, at approximately 3:16 p.m., located in the 100 block of Isle of Pines Road, in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was made and charges were not filed.
