Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office Report, March 2026  


On 3/1/26, at approximately 10:34 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Virginia Canyon Road on a report of  trespassing. Parties were cited and a report was completed.

On 3/1/26, at approximately 7:02 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a civil issue that could be handled by telephone.

On 3/2/26, at approximately 7:59 a.m. a deputy responded to High Street, Central City, on a report of an unconscious party. The party was okay and did not need medical attention. A report was completed.

On 3/2/26, a deputy assisted a party with a stuck vehicle on Tolland Road, Rollinsville, on a trailhead for hiking. A report was later written.

On 3/2/26, at approximately 5:42 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of a dog bite, located in the 600 block of Highway 46. A report was taken.  

On 3/2/26, at approximately 7:27 p.m., deputies received a call regarding cancellation of internet services on Feldspar Road. A report was taken.

On 3/3/26, an in-custody individual was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on a new warrant. A male party came to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office to turn himself in on two warrants. He was arrested on the warrants and a report was taken.

On 3/3/26, a deputy responded to Eureka Street, Central City, for a citizen assist. A report was later written and an investigation was conducted for a potential violation of a restraining order.

On 3/3/26, at approximately 4 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a civil issue that occurred at the 200 block of Gold Road, Black Hawk. A report was taken.

On 3/3/26, at approximately 4:32 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a found drugs call at the Grand Z Hotel and Casino.

On 3/3/26, at approximately 11:35 p.m., deputies responded near the 34000 block of Stanton Drive in regards to a cold burglary. A report was made.

On 3/4/26, at approximately 12:48 p.m., a female turned herself in on active warrants. No further incident.

On 3/4/26, at approximately 6 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 3.5 Highway 119. An arrest was made for DUI and for two warrants. A report was made.

On 3/4/26, a deputy spotted a vehicle associated with a known fugitive at mile marker 16.5 Highway 119 on his way into work. The vehicle was contacted and fled, a report was later written.

On 3/4/26, deputies responded to a welfare check at Highway 46 and Highway 119. A report was made.  

On 3/4/26, a female party turned herself in on a warrant. She was booked in on the warrant. A report was later completed.

On 3/4/26, deputies responded to Coal Creek Canyon Drive to assist Boulder County with  a disturbance. A report was later written.

On 3/6/26, at approximately 4:45 a.m., deputies were dispatched to approximately mile marker 2 Highway 46, in regards to a motor vehicle accident. A report was made.

On 3/6/26, at approximately 6:37 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with property damage. The deputy was advised one of the drivers left the scene. A report was completed.  

On 3/7/26, at approximately 8:20 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Tolland Road for a suspicious person to be handled by phone. A report was made.  

On 3/7/26, a male party was transported to Gilpin County on a Gilpin County warrant upon arrival a Douglas County warrant was found and located. He was booked in on the warrant. A report was later completed.

On 3/8/26, at approximately 1:45 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to an abandoned vehicle located at mile post 17.1 Highway 119.

On 3/8/26, a male party turned himself in on a warrant. He was booked in on the warrant. A report was later completed.

On 3/9/26, at approximately 9 a.m., an investigator screened a referral from the Department of Human Services’ Child Welfare Division. An identification was made, the juvenile contacted and

interviewed, and the allegation determined to be unfounded. No charges were filed. 

On 3/9/26, at approximately 2:43 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 3800 block of Bald Mountain Road for found property. The property was taken to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office for safekeeping.

On 3/11/26, at approximately 6:16 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Highway 72 for a shooting complaint. A report was made.

On 3/11/26, at approximately 11:10 p.m., deputies responded as cover for Black Hawk officers, conducting a traffic stop at the 400 block of Main Street. A report was made.  

On 3/12/26, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 14.5 Highway 119. A party was given a summons and a report was later written.

On 3/13/26, at approximately 4:19 a.m., deputies responded to the 200 block of Norton Drive. A report was made.

On 3/14/26, at approximately 1:57 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Karlann Drive on a report of a cold criminal mischief case. A report was taken.

On 3/15/26, at approximately 12:39 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a missing/overdue party where the last known location was in Gilpin County.

On 3/15/26, at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Whispering Hope Way to assist the Timberline Fire Department with a structure fire. No criminal activity was found.

On 3/16/26, at approximately 5:50 a.m., a deputy responded to a motor vehicle collision located at

mile marker 3 Highway 119. A report was taken.  

On 3/17/26, a female party came to the sheriff's office to turn herself in on a Gilpin County warrant. She was arrested on the warrant and a report was completed.

On 3/18/26, deputies responded to a request for an Assist Other Agency by Colorado State Patrol near mile post 261 on US 6.

On 3/20/26, at approximately 11:05 a.m., deputies responded to a call for a child locked inside a vehicle, which was not running in the 100 block Windsong Trial, Black Hawk. A report was completed.  

On 3/20/26, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a female party was transported from the Gilpin County Detention Facility to Lutheran hospital. Due to the extent of the medical issues and limited capabilities for in facility medical care, it was determined to offer the best care to the party, was to contact the court system to attempt to have the bond converted. Her bond was modified to a personal recognizance bond and was released from the custody of Gilpin County Sheriff's Office.  

On 3/20/26, at approximately 10:27 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a cold hit and run

that occurred in the 1400 block of High Point Circle. A report was taken and Colorado State Patrol was contacted.

On 3/21/26, at approximately 1:41 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to obtain a fraudulent Identification Card located at Bonanza Casino.

On 3/21/26, at approximately 9:34 a.m., a deputy performed a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Highway 119, Black Hawk. An adult male was taken into custody on two active warrants.

On 3/21/26, at approximately 1:35 p.m., a deputy observed a gray Dodge pickup driving on Highway 119 in the area of mile marker 6.5. The pickup was dragging a bike carrier and tire behind it. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. The driver was cited and released.  

On 3/21/26, at approximately 7:42 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of Beethoven Drive on the report of a single vehicle crash. An arrest was made by Colorado State Patrol.

On 3/22/26, at approximately 8:56 a.m., a deputy performed a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Highway 119, Black Hawk. An adult female was taken into custody on an active warrant.

On 3/23/26, at approximately 6:52 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located in the area of mile marker 3 Highway 119, Black Hawk. A report was completed.  

On 3/23/26, at approximately 4:33 p.m., a deputy responded to the 200 block of Quartz Road on the report of a criminal mischief. A report was taken.

On 3/24/26, a female subject turned herself in on a warrant and was processed without incident. A report was later completed.

On 3/25/26, at approximately 10:34 a.m., deputies responded to Coyote Circle for a death investigation. A report was later written.

On 3/25/26, at approximately 11:20 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a dog bite that occurred on Lynwood Road, Black Hawk. A report was made.  

On 3/25/26, deputies responded to the 1500 block of Dory Hill Road for an alleged suicidal party. A report was later written.

On 3/25/26, a deputy took a fraud call to be handled by phone. A report was made.  

On 3/25/26, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a theft at the Grand Z Casino. A report was taken.

On 3/28/26, at approximately 2 p.m., a sergeant responded to the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office on a report of lost property. A report was taken.

On 3/29/26, at approximately 10:58 p.m., deputies responded to a traffic accident in the 100 block of Main Street, Central City. A driver was cited and a report taken.

On 3/30/26, at approximately 3:01 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of harassment at the Gilpin County Recreation Center. A report was taken. 

On 3/30/26, at approximately 7:35 p.m., deputies responded to the 400 block of Athena Road. on a report of an in-progress disturbance. An arrest was made.

On 3/31/26, at approximately 6:57 p.m., deputies responded near the 2400 block of S. Beaver Road, Black Hawk, in regards to a theft call for service. A report was made.  

On 3/31/26, at approximately 7:43 p.m., deputies responded near the 300 block of Mica Road, Black Hawk, in regards to a welfare check call for service. A report was made.
