On Friday, 9/2/16 at approximately 7:30 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 8000 block of Tolland Road in Rollinsville regarding a report of an injured deer. The deer was euthanized and a case report was completed.

On 9/2/16 a deputy took a report from Gilpin County Human Services concerning an at-risk adult.

On 9/2/16 at 4:25 p.m. an Officer was completing a new booking and an inmate in the Gilpin County Detention Facility was found to an active warrant.

On 9/2/16 at approximately 6:35 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for several offenses, issued the passenger a ticket, and impounded the vehicle for no insurance.

On 9/2/16 at approximately 10:50 a.m. a deputy was advised by Gilpin County dispatch of a mentally unstable party possibly located in Gilpin County. A report was taken and no criminal charges were filed.

On 9/3/16 at approximately 9:05 a.m. a male party came to visit an inmate, and it was discovered that the male had an active warrant out of Jefferson County. The male party was booked on the warrant without incident.

On 9/3/16 at approximately 10:25 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Mountain Meadows Road regarding a report of a theft. A report was taken.

On 9/3/16 at approximately 6:35 p.m. a deputy responded to a call regarding a counterfeit $100 bill.  The bill was seized and a report has been completed.

On 9/3/16 at 28:20 p.m. an inmate being released from the Gilpin County Detention Facility was found to an active warrant.

On 9/3/16 a deputy was on a traffic stop in Black Hawk and was contacted by an assault victim.  The Black Hawk Police Department responded and took over the investigation.

On 9/4/16 a deputy conducted a traffic stop.  The driver was found to have a suspended license and the vehicle had expired plates.  A Proof of Service was issued the vehicle was red tagged.

On 9/4/16 at approximately 9:35 a.m. a Gilpin deputy stopped a motorcycle for speeding at 66 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The driver was issued a speeding ticket.

On 9/4/16 a Deputy received alert tones to respond to a disturbance in progress at the Gold Mt Village Apartments. A male subject was later taken into custody for cruelty to animals.

On Sunday 9/4/16 a deputy responded to the Reserve Casino on a report of a counterfeit bill.  The bill was seized and a report was completed.

On 9/4/16 at approximately 10:42 p.m. a deputy  was dispatched to Paintbrush Drive on a report of a fully involved structure fire.   A case report was completed.

On 9/5/16 at approximately 15:04 p.m. a deputy was contacted by a passerby and notified of someone shooting in the area of the 500 block of Columbine Campground Road. A male party was issued a proof of service for a suspended driver`s license.  A case report was completed.

On 9/6/16 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a male inmate was arrested for four active warrants and processed at the Gilpin County Jail.

On 9/7/16 at approximately 6:00 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the intersection of highway 119 and U.S. 6, Golden, located in Clear Creek County for a motorist assist. The driver`s license was found to be cancelled/denied and the party was issued a proof of service.

On 9/7/16 at approximately 10:34 a.m. a male party’s driver’s license was confiscated for being cancel/denied for an unpaid ticket.

On 9/8/16 at approximately 11:47 a.m. a warrant was located for a male inmate of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s office.  The inmate was booked on this warrant without incident on 9/13/16 at 1:30 p.m.

On 9/8/16 at approximately 2:56 p.m. a deputy responded to  Missouri Flats Rd. for a report of a possible theft.

On 9/8/16 at approximately 5:05 p.m. a deputy was dispatched on a trespassing call.  A report has been completed.  Charges are pending for the suspect.

On 9/10/16 at approximately 11:17 a.m. a male party arrived in the Sheriff`s Office lobby to visit an inmate.  He presented a “REVOKED” Colorado Restricted Driver License and was issued a proof of service without incident.

On 9/10/16 a deputy took a report of stolen property from a camper located at Base Camp.

On 9/11/16 a deputy was dispatched to s suspicious vehicle on Highway 119. The vehicle was stopped and contacted by the deputy.  The driver was found to have a canceled driver`s license.  A proof of service was issued.

On 9/10/16 at approximately 5:34 p.m. Gilpin deputies investigated a wildlife complaint. The male hunters were issued summons for not wearing fluorescent orange.

On 9/10/16 at approximately 10:35 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop.  It was later determined that the driver of the vehicle had a revoked out-of-state driver`s license and the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured.  The driver was issued a summons to appear in court and the vehicle was impounded.

On 9/11/16 a deputy towed and abandoned motor vehicle within unincorporated Gilpin County.

On 9/ 12/16 at approximately 12:44 a.m. a deputy was patrolling in the area of Nevada Street and Bridge Street in the City of Central when he observed a female and male party arguing in a parking lot.  The male party was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Gilpin County Jail and processed into the Jail without incident.  A case report was completed.

On 9/12/16 a deputy noticed a suspicious incident at a residence.

On 9/12/16 a deputy stopped a R.E.D.D.I. report in Central City and the driver was arrested for DUI and possessing a weapon while under the influence.

On 9/12/16, at approximately 11:32 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop at mile post 6.8 on the Central City Parkway in the City of Central for Failure to Drive in a Single Lane (Weaving).  After further investigation, it was found the driver had a canceled driver`s license.  The driver was issued a summons and released at the scene.  A case report was completed.

On 9/13/16 at approximately 2:36 p.m. a deputy responded to Central City for a report of a possible harassment.

On 9/14/16 at approximately 5:06 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to mile marker 13.5 Highway 119 for a motor vehicle accident. A report was later completed and the scene was released to Colorado State Patrol.

On 9/14/16 a deputy responded to a Forest Service Road for a report of damaged property.

On 9/14/16 a deputy took a report of Identify Theft from a resident.

On 9/14/16 at approximately 9:38 p.m. a Gilpin deputy was patrolling the Central City Parkway.  The deputy stopped an adult male, who was driving a pickup, for speeding 20 MPH over the posted 50 MPH speed limit.  Investigation revealed the adult male was under the influence of alcohol.  The adult male was booked into the Gilpin County Jail for DUI, No Insurance, and speeding.

On 9/15/16 a deputy initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation. The driver was found to be driving on a suspended driver`s license. He was issued a summons.

On 9/15/16 at approximately 10:10 p.m. deputies responded to a Casino in Central City on a report that a party with an active arrest warrant was on property.  When the deputies attempted to make contact with the party, the party ran away from the officers.  The party was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit without incident.  The party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant and new charges.

On 9/18/16 deputies assisted the US Forest Service on an investigation.  One party was arrested for the violation of a protection order and was booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

On 9/18/16 at approximately 8:25 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of Columbine Campground Road to assist the National Forest Service with the removal of an abandoned red tagged vehicle parked on the roadway.  A case report was completed.

On 9/18/16 a Gilpin deputy took a theft report from a local business.  Evidence was collected, including video evidence.  The investigation continues.

On 9/19/16 a deputy towed an abandoned trailed, which was parked on the roadway in Central City.

0n 9/20/16/ at approximately 2:30 p.m. a deputy was working an assigned shift at the Gilpin County Detention Facility when a male inmate (currently in custody at the Gilpin County Jail) was booked on 3 active warrants out of Black Hawk Police Department.

On 9/20/16 deputies responded to an in-progress disturbance, which was determined to be a medical issue.

On 9/21/16 at approximately 6:32 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 13000 block Highway 119, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado, regarding a report of an injured cow. The cow was euthanized and a case report was completed.

On 9/21/16 at approximately 9:23 a.m. a deputy responded to a suicidal party.

On 9/23/16 at approximately 12:15 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a summons then gave her a courtesy ride to her residence since the vehicle was towed.

On 9/24/16 a deputy observed a vehicle speeding. While conducting the traffic stop, the deputy observed the passenger and driver switching spots in the vehicle. The driver provided a false name to the deputy. The driver was issued a summons for speeding, driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver`s license and false reporting to authorities.

On 9/24/16 a Gilpin Deputy responded to a call of a disturbance between an adult male and an adult female.  The adult male had fled the scene.  After an investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of the adult male.

On 9/25/16 a deputy responded to the Bonanza Casino on a report of a counterfeit bill.  The bill was seized and a report was completed.

On 9/25/16 at approximately 6:18 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 510 Old Stagecoach Road on a report of an assault.  A male party unrelated to the assault was arrested on warrants.  A case report was completed.

On 9/26/16 a deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding. A DUI investigation was conducted the driver was subsequently arrested.

On 9/26/16 a deputy contacted a female party, who was stumbling down Gregory Street. The female ran on foot and was placed into custody for several warrants and new charges.

On 9/26/16 deputies responded to the area of the Moffat Tunnel, on the report of an assault in progress.

On 9/27/16 a deputy took a report of found drug paraphernalia.  The paraphernalia was taken as evidence to be destroyed.  No further action taken.

On 9/27/16 deputies conducted a death investigation.

On 9/28/16 at approximately 8:50 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a call for found property, in the 100 Block of Caesar Road. The found property was located and recovered.  Later, it was logged into evidence and a case report was completed.

On 9/28/16 a deputy conducted a welfare check on parties camping within the city limits of Central City, CO. A male party was arrested for a warrant and taken to the Gilpin County Jail without incident.

On 9/28/16 at approximately 11:30 p.m. a warrant was located for a male inmate of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s office.  The inmate was booked on this warrant without incident.

On 9/28/16 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 and Gamble Gulch, and later arrested the driver for DUI.

On 9/29/16 at approximately 9:43 a.m. a person arrived at the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to turn himself in on a warrant.  Through routine clearance using CCIC/NCIC, a valid warrant for the person was found, and he was escorted to the Gilpin County Jail for processing.

On 9/30/16 at approximately 9:40 a.m. located at the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office Detention Facility, a gas line and stove in the kitchen area caught fire.  Staff responded and put the fire out with two blasts from a fire extinguisher.  There were no reported injuries and no significant damage to the kitchen.

On 9/30/16 at approximately 5:25 p.m. a deputy took a report on a party entering another`s property and removing fallen trees.  A report has been completed and the case is still under investigation.

On 9/30/16 a deputy was on patrol in the 5300 block of highway 119, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado. A party was contacted who had an active warrant out of Denver. The party was arrested for the warrant as well as defacing property.
