On 5/1/21, the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a female party stating her identity had been used in an unemployment fraud.
On 5/1/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the 100 block of Mountain Meadows Drive for a report of a cold burglary. It was found that the wind blew open a window and no one had broken into the home. A case report was later completed.
On 5/2/21, the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office took a report from an adult female party who claimed their wallet was stolen while at the Grand Z Casino.
On 5/3/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to a residence in mid-county on the report of a woman found dead alongside a firearm. The death was ruled suspicious and a male party on scene was placed under investigative detention. Investigators with the GCSO and agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene with a search warrant and conducted an investigation alongside the Gilpin County Coroner. The male party was released later that morning once the scene investigation was completed. The case is still open pending further investigation.
On 5/4/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the report of a fraudulent application of unemployment benefits. Contact was made with the reporting party via telephone and a report was made.
On 5/4/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Z Casino to meet with the reporting party on a report of a vehicle theft from the Coyote Motel. A report was taken, and the vehicle was entered as stolen.
On 5/4/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a report of a possible vehicle theft, assault or civil issue. The deputy determined that an assault had occurred, but the reporting party didn’t want to pursue criminal charges. The vehicle was found a short time later.
On 5/5/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Coyote Motel on a report of a male holding a female hostage with a knife. A warrant was requested and a report was completed.
On 5/6/21, a Gilpin County deputy received a REDDI report for a possible drunk driver. The driver was contacted in the 300 block of Gregory Street and was placed into custody and issued a summons for DUID.
On 5/6/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to a cold assault that occurred on Pioneer Road which occurred on 5/5/21.
On 5/6/21, the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a theft that occurred on Upper Moon Gulch.
On 5/6/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Lawrence Street on the report of a non-injury hit and run accident. A report was taken.
On 5/7/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover accident with minor injuries that occurred at mile marker 1 of the Central City Parkway involving a single male occupant.
On 5/7/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the 6500 block of Central City Parkway on the report of an injury accident. A report was taken.
On 5/7/21, the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office took a report that an unknown party trespassed and vandalized a vehicle belonging to a male victim in the 600 block of Highway 46.
On 5/7/21, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Coyote Liquor store on a report of a cold assault. The deputy determined there was a lack of evidence to substantiate criminal charges.
On 5/8/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to the Z Casino for a report of found drugs in a vacant room.
On 5/8/21, Gilpin County deputies were advised of a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) that had pulled over at mile marker 2 on Highway 119. The driver was contacted and arrested for investigation of driving under the influence. A report was made.
On 5/9/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a disturbance located at Century Casino, 102 Main Street. After investigating the disturbance a report was completed.
On 5/10/21, a Gilpin County deputy found a stolen vehicle in the 100 block of Nevada Street. The vehicle was towed and a case report was later completed.
On 5/10/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Black Hawk. The driver was issued a summons for driving as a habitual traffic offender.
On 5/10/21, a Gilpin County deputy was patrolling the area of mile marker 4 Highway 119, when they heard Colorado State Patrol (CSP) conduct a traffic stop at approximately mile 5 Highway 119. CSP requested assistance and two parties were arrested and later released. A report was completed.
On 5/12/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. The driver was later arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and cannabis.
On 5/12/21, a concerned citizen reported an erratic driver on Highway 119 to the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy later located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was later arrested for felony DUI for having three or more prior DUI related convictions.
On 5/12/21, a Gilpin County deputy was made aware of a failed to register as a sex offender. The subject failed to register on or prior to September 2, 2020.
On 5/14/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to the 200 block of Eureka Street for a report of a disturbance in progress. An arrest was made and a case report was later completed.
On 5/15/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino parking garage, for a two vehicle accident with property damage and no injuries. Information was exchanged between both parties and a report was made.
On 5/15/21, a male party arrived at the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office wanting to pursue harassment charges against a neighbor. A report was made.
On 5/15/21, the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a party stating that someone brought a box of stolen mail to his house. The mail was found at the intersection of Dory Lakes Drive and Highway 119. A report was made.
On 5/18/21, Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Miners Candle Way for a disturbance between two male parties.
On 5/18/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Century Casino on a report of a motor vehicle accident with property damage only. A report was completed.
On 5/18/21, a Gilpin County deputy heard dispatch air a REDDI report on northbound Highway 119 at mile marker 4 while travelling northbound at mile marker 1 when the REDDI report was made. The R/P stated the vehicle had stopped at the Coyote Motel Liquor store. The deputy arrived on scene at the Coyote as the REDDI was starting to back out of the parking space. He activated his emergency lights and contacted the driver who was later placed into custody for the investigation of Driving under the Influence. A report was made.
On 5/19/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to the 9300 block of Highway 119 for a possible cold aggressive driver complaint. A female party was arrested on scene for suspicion of DUI.
On 5/19/21, a Gilpin County deputy took a fraud report for unemployment insurance.
On 5/19/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville. The driver was later arrested for driving under the influence.
On 5/20/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 5/21/21, Gilpin County Communications received a 911 call from a Central City residence with a female screaming in the background. Deputies responded to the address, made contact with a male and female party, and conducted interviews. It was determined that no crime had taken place and a report was made.
On 5/21/21, a male party walked into the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office lobby to file a report of a female party making false allegations against him. A deputy took the reporting party’s information and a witness statement. A report was made.
On 5/22/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino located at 321 Gregory Street on a report of a theft on the gaming floor. A report was completed.
On 5/23/21, a Gilpin County deputy took a phone report of criminal mischief in the 400 block of Black Bear Trail. A report was later completed.
On 5/23/21, a Gilpin County deputy located a license plate that appeared to have fallen off a vehicle. The license plate was collected and logged into evidence.
On 5/24/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to a report of a female party who had trespassed onto a Mount Tomas property and sped away without further incident.
On 5/25/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to the report of a trespass. While en route, the suspect fled the scene in a motor vehicle and was eventually contacted on the Jefferson County side of the border. The suspect was found to have a revoked license status, was separated from the vehicle and issued a summons.
On 5/24/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to an address off South Beaver Creek Road on the report of a suicidal party.
On 5/26/21, Gilpin County deputies made contact with two male parties and one female party at the Century parking garage on suspicion of drug activity.
On 5/27/21, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 3300 block of Smith Hill Road on the report of a party trespassing on private property and refusing to leave. A party was issued a criminal summons for trespassing and a report taken.
On 5/28/21, Gilpin Dispatch aired a REDDI report southbound Highway 119 from mile marker 6. A deputy saw and contacted the vehicle. The driver was arrested on outstanding warrants. The party had a medical emergency and an ambulance was called and the party was transported to the hospital. The warrants are still active.
On 5/28/21, a Gilpin County deputy contacted someone that was found to have an active warrant for their arrest in the 100 block of Nevada Street. The person was arrested and a case report was completed.
On 5/29/21, Gilpin County deputies responded to a suicidal party at mile marker 24.4 on Highway 72. The male party was placed on a M1 mental health hold and transported by Gilpin paramedics to Lutheran Medical Center.
On 5/29/21, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a welfare check on a black 2008 Nissan sedan, located at approximately mile marker 4 Highway 119. Upon clearing the license plate, the deputy was informed the vehicle was stolen. An investigation was completed and a suspect was identified. A report was completed.
On 5/30/21, a party arrived at the Gilpin County Jail to visit an inmate. A deputy found that the party’s driver’s license was a canceled/failed registered vehicle. A proof of service was issued for a canceled driver’s license.
