On 3/1/20, a Gilpin County deputy stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations in Central City. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and fictitious plates on the vehicle. A summons was issued.
On 3/1/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 in unincorporated Gilpin County Colorado, at approximately mile marker 13.1. The driver was cited for an unregistered vehicle, and Failure to Provide Insurance upon Request. A case report was completed.
On 3/2/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Dostal Alley Casino parking lot. A male party was arrested for a felony warrant and DUI.
On 3/3/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Century Casino, on the report of a theft. The case is under investigation.
On 3/3/20, a person arrived at the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to turn himself in on an active, valid warrant. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.
On 3/4/20, a male party turned himself in on a Gilpin County Warrant. The warrant was confirmed and the male party was booked in without incident.
On 3/4/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a party who was the subject of a traffic complaint in the Gilpin County Combined Courts parking lot located at 2960 Dory Hill Road, Gilpin County, Black Hawk. The driver was issued a penalty assessment for a traffic violation and a report was later completed.
On 3/4/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop at the 100 block of Main St, Central City. The driver was issued a summons, and a passenger in the vehicle was arrested on multiple warrants.

On 3/5/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a stolen vehicle license plate at the Gold Mountain Village Apartments, located at 440 Powder Run Drive, in the incorporated City of Central City. The reporting party was contacted and a case report was later completed.
On 3/5/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Z Stop Gas Station at 1351 Highway 119, Black Hawk, on a traffic complaint. An individual was located who was listed as missing and endangered. The individual was reunited with their family.
On 3/6/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to Beethoven Dr., unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of a harassment. A report was taken.
On 3/7/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the 1700 block of Highway 119, Black Hawk, on the report of a suspicious vehicle. Two parties were issued criminal summons for drug related charges.
On 3/8/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver was issued a summons for driving while license under restraint, no proof of insurance and displaying fictitious license plates.
On 3/9/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver provided a false name upon contact. The driver was detained and transported to Gilpin Jail for identification fingerprints. The male party was determined to have seven out of state warrants for his arrest.
On 3/9/20, a Gilpin County deputy was contacted by a citizen who reported their personal identifying information had been compromised and there was unauthorized use of his credit card.
On 3/9/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the 5300 block of Highway 119, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of a private property traffic accident. The deputy assisted the Colorado State Patrol with the incident.
On 3/10/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on Central City Parkway in Central City. The driver was issued a citation for speeding and driving while license suspended.
On 3/10/20, a Gilpin County deputy was contacted by a member of the Grand Junction Police Department. The detective asked if a deputy could respond to an address within Gilpin County to see if there was an ATV present and to query the VIN due to the possibility it had been stolen from Grand Junction Colorado. Deputies responded and recovered the stolen ATV.
On 3/11/20, a party called the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office to report that his wallet was stolen from his unlocked and unattended vehicle in the Moffat Tunnel parking lot that morning sometime between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
On 3/12/20, a Gilpin County Deputy responded to a hotel room at the Century on the report of two intoxicated parties, refusing to leave. One of the parties was issued a summons and both parties left the property.
On 3/12/20, a Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office deputy met a citizen who turned in a wallet found on their property. Attempts have been made to contact the owner of said wallet.
On 3/13/20, a Gilpin County deputy working their assigned shift at the Gilpin County Courts located in unincorporated Gilpin County, took a male party into custody on a warrant without incident.
On 3/13/20, a Gilpin County deputy made a traffic stop in the 500 block of Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons.
On 3/14/20, a Gilpin County deputy was advised of a cold theft that occurred on 3/12/20 at the Grand Z Casino located in Central City.
On 3/15/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of a counterfeit bill at the Z-Stop Gas Station. No suspect info available.
On 3/16/20, a Gilpin County deputy cleared a license plate and it registered to a different vehicle expiring 12/18. A traffic stop was later initiated on the vehicle. The driver was found to be under restraint. A summons was issued and plates were seized.
On 3/17/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Black Hawk. The driver was issued a summons for driving while license under restraint.
On 3/18/20, Gilpin County deputies responded to a residential address located in the City of Black Hawk to assist officers from the Black Hawk Police Department in dealing with a disturbance between two male parties involving a machete. A report was generated to document the deputy`s involvement.
On 3/19/20, a Gilpin County deputy was assisting a citizen with a courtesy ride. Once that party had been dropped off the deputy went back out of the road and slid into a parked vehicle causing a small dent in the passenger door. A report was made.
On 3/20/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched on a theft call that could be handled by phone. A report was completed.
On 3/20/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was arrested for DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia for the second time this month.
On 3/22/20, a Gilpin County deputy was to the 200 block of Sunrise Ln. Black Hawk, on a report of an abandoned vehicle.
On 3/23/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to assist a Colorado State Patrol Trooper with a DUI investigation.
On 3/26/20, a Gilpin County deputy was advised of a mandatory report from a dog bite that occurred on 3/24/20. The victim/owner went to seek medical care from the dog bite.
On 3/27/20, Gilpin County deputies responded to an address on Meadow Way, on the report of a criminal mischief disturbance and suicidal male party armed with a handgun. A male party was arrested and released to the custody of Gilpin Ambulance Authority for a mental health evaluation. He was also cited for criminal mischief and obstructing a peace officer.
On 3/28/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a vehicle parked on Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for driving while license revoked for an alcohol offense.
On 3/28/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a pedestrian on Highway 119 at approximately mile marker 15.3. The male party provided a false name and when the deputy attempted to place him into custody a fight ensued. The male party attempted to grab the deputy's Taser and handgun. The deputy was able to subdue the male party and he was later booked into Gilpin Jail on the charges of: disarming a peace officer, criminal attempt-disarming a peace officer, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and false reporting.
On 3/30/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a stolen license plate on I-70 in Idaho Springs. The driver was issued a summons for DUID and numerous other charges.
On 3/30/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the area of Missouri Flats and Lower Russell Gulch Rd, Central City, on a report of suspicious persons/vehicles. A report was later completed.
On 3/31/20, Gilpin County deputies responded to the 100 block of Spring St, Central City, on the report of a disturbance. Investigation disclosed that one male tackled another male inside of the residence. One of the males had a misdemeanor warrant but due to COVID 19 restrictions jail acceptance, he was advised of the warrant and told to take care of it at a later time. A deputy mediated between the two males and both agreed to leave each other alone.
