On 7/1/22, at approximately 0250 hours, a deputy was stationary in the 500 block of Gregory St, Central City. The deputy observed a blue Jeep Compass matching the description of Be On the Lookout (BOLO) out of Douglas County for a suspect in a sexual assault case. The deputy initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle. The suspect vehicle proceeded to run from the deputy and start a pursuit. deputy lost visual of the suspect vehicle on Eastbound I-70. Agencies in the metro area have been advised.
On 7/1/22, at approximately 2147 hours, deputy was stationary on mile marker 10.5 on Highway 119, Black Hawk. Deputy observed a vehicle traveling Southbound on Highway 119. Upon investigation the deputy arrested the suspect for a warrant out of Denver and DUI.
On 7/2/22, at approximately 0024 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash near the 300 block of Nevadaville Rd, Central City. A penalty assessment was issued to the driver of the crashed vehicle and a report taken.
On 7/2/22, at approximately 0901 hours, deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 119 and Missouri Gulch Rd, Black Hawk, on a report of a dog bite. The owner of the dog was cited.
On 7/3/22, at approximately 0921 hours, a deputy was contacted by a party while the deputy was conducting an area check of Kelly Dahl Campground located at 21900 highway 119, Black Hawk. The party advised his vehicle was broken into, which was parked at the entry gate of Kelly Dahl Campground. A report was completed.
On 7/3/22, at approximately 1500 hours, Gilpin County deputy found an item in the Sheriff’s office lobby. The item was booked into evidence for safe keeping. A report was completed.
On 7/3/22 at approximately 2125 hours, Deputies responded to Cold Springs Campground, 12302 Highway 119, Black Hawk, on the report of a vehicle driving recklessly, the driver of that vehicle yelling obscenities at campers. A suspect was contacted, and an investigation has been opened.
On 7/4/22, at approximately 1104 hours, a deputy responded to the 300 Block of Gregory Street in Central City for a report of found drugs. A case report was later completed.
On 7/6/22, at approximately 0037 hours, the deputy was traveling southbound at mile marker 2 on Highway 119. The Deputy observed a sedan, red in color, traveling northbound on Highway 119 with no plates and heavy damage on the driver-side rear end. Upon investigation the driver was arrested for violation of a protection order and an outstanding warrant.
On 7/6/22, at approximately 0301 hours, a deputy was dispatched to Central City in reference to a theft that happened at the second level of the Casino garage. A report was taken.
On 7/6/22, at approximately 0629, a deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z for a disturbance. A female subject was arrested for drug possession, a warrant from Black Hawk PD, and a Warrant from Teller County Sheriff.

On 7/7/22, at approximately 0750 hours, a deputy arrested a subject that had an active warrant for their arrest in the 100 block of Lodge Pole Drive in unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was later completed.
On 7/7/22, at approximately 2357 hours, a deputy responded to a report of a damaged slot machine at Grand Z Casino, Central City. Upon investigation, the suspect was arrested on a warrant and the Casino did not prosecute criminal charges for the damages.
On 7/8/22, at 1229 hours, a resident reported receiving a suspicious email. A report was taken.
On 7/8/22, at 1515 hours, an inmate being booked into the Gilpin County Detention Facility was found to have an additional active warrant.
On 7/8/22, a deputy observed the State Patrol pursuing a vehicle. Deputy assisted and proceeded to be terminated moments later due to the high risk of the incident.
On 7/9/22, at approximately 1820 hours, a deputy contacted a person by phone in regards to a suspicious email. The person revived the email at their home at the 15000 block of Highway 119, Black Hawk. A report was taken.
On 7/9/22, at approximately 2222 hours, a deputy was dispatched to contact a person regarding a harassment located at the 500 block of Old Hughesville Rd, Black Hawk. A report was taken.
On 7/9/22, at approximately 2256 hours, deputies responded to a burglary in progress at 51 Paula Ave, Unincorporated Gilpin County. Deputies were advised by Gilpin County Communications (Dispatch) an intoxicated female is in the driveway of the address listed above, stating there is a male inside the reporting party (RP) house. RP stating the female is in a Subaru Outback with Iowa plates. Upon investigation the female suspect was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 7/10/22, at approximately 1951 hours, a deputy was dispatched to 24 Blue Flag ln, Unincorporated Gilpin County, in reference to a report of suspicious activity. A report was taken.
On 7/10/22 at approximately 2144 hours, a deputy responded to a disturbance at Black Hawk, Unincorporated Gilpin County, in reference to a male subject with a rifle. Upon investigation the suspect was arrested on multiple charges.
On 7/11/2022, a deputy took a found property report of identification cards that had been found on the side of the road.
On 7/11/22, a deputy took an information report for a party that had some minor scratches on his vehicle.
On 7/12/22, at 0510 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z, located at 321 Gregory Street, in reference to a stolen vehicle. Vehicle was subsequently recovered at another location. Two suspects have been identified as a 37 year old female and 42 year old male. Case is open pending further information.
On 7/12/22, at approximately 0710 hours, a deputy responded to the Gold Mountain Village Apartments in Central City for a report of a vehicle break-in. A case report was later completed.
On 7/12/22, at approximately 1315 hours, a deputy responded to the Gold Mountain Village Apartments for a report of theft from a vehicle. A case report was later completed.
On 7/12/22, at approximately 1535 hours, Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to take a phone call in regard to a theft that occurred in the Grand Z Casino a couple of days ago. A report was completed.
On 7/14/22, a deputy completed a certified VIN inspection.
On 7/15/22, a male was booked into jail for felony menacing.
On 7/15/22, at approximately 1904 hours, a Gilpin Deputy responded to the 300 block of Spring St, Central City, for a noise complaint. A report was later made. Nothing further.
On 7/16/22 a male was issued a summons for trespassing.
On 7/16/22, at approximately 2307 hours, a deputy was dispatched to Century Casino, Central City. The deputy was advised that a male party tried to use a counterfeit $10 bill. Upon investigation, the counterfeit bill was confiscated and no charges were brought against the male.
On 7/16/22, at approximately 2341 hours, deputy was advised by the Manager on Duty (MOD) that someone broke into a vehicle and stole a couple of items at 111 Lawrence St (Century Casino garage), Central City. Upon investigation, the suspect was identified and a warrant will be issued.
On 7/17/22, at approximately 1301 hours, a deputy was flagged down by a pedestrian at approximately mile marker 6.8, Central City Parkway, Central City. The pedestrian stated they found a wallet on the side of the road and wanted to turn the wallet in. The wallet will be placed into safe keeping, and a report was completed.
On 7/17/22, at approximately 1935 hours, a deputy was dispatched to Base Camp Campgrounds, 661 Hwy 119, Black Hawk, on a dog issue. A person was issued a criminal summons.
On 7/17/22, at approximately 2102 hours, a deputy responded to 321 Gregory St (Grand Z Casino), Central City. The deputy was advised of a suspicious white van with blue stripes on level three of the parking garage. Upon investigation one of the subjects had a warrant which she was arrested for. Subject was released to medics due to possible Fentanyl withdrawal.
On 7/18/22, a deer was struck by a vehicle and severely injured. A Deputy shot the deer.
On 7/18/22, at approximately 1313 hours, deputies were dispatched to 445 Powder Run Dr Apt 7-301, Central City, in reference to a fraud and a report was taken.
On 7/18/22, at approximately 2242 hours, a deputy assisted trooper with a traffic stop at Mile Marker 5, Highway 119. Upon a DUI investigation the trooper placed one suspect under arrest.
On 7/20/22, at approximately 1030 hour, a deputy responded to the 800 block of Gilpin Road in unincorporated Gilpin County for a report of trespassing. A case report was later completed.
On Tuesday 7/19/22, at approximately 2210 hours, a male party showed up to the Sheriff’s Office to turn himself in on a warrant. A deputy cleared the male party and two warrants were found. The male party was booked into the jail on the two warrants that were found.
On 7/20/22, at approximately 0226 hours, a deputy was traveling northbound at Mile Marker 5, Highway 119. The deputy did observe a silver Honda, bearing Colorado temporary tag 4489012. Upon investigation the deputy found the plates where fictitious and confiscated them.
On 7/20/22, at 0932, a deputy responded to 1029 Stone Road in reference to a property/neighbor dispute. A report was taken.
On 7/20/22, at approximately 0947 hours, deputy was dispatched to 321 Gregory St. in reference to a theft and a report was taken.
On 7/21/22, a deputy responded to a cold burglary on Robinson Hill Road. The case is active, still under investigation.
On 7/21/22 at approximately 1020 hours, Emergency Medical Services arrived at the Gilpin County Jail, 2960 Dory Hill Rd, Black Hawk, A female party who was on suicide watch was issued a personal recognizance bond. The female party was released to EMS and was transported to Lutheran Hospital for further evaluation.
On 7/21/22 at approximately 2135 hours, deputies responded, emergent, to a report of a burglary in progress in the 200 block of Feldspar Rd. Unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado. A report was taken.
On 7/ 22/22 at approximately 0933 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a cold burglary located in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was completed.
On 7/22/22, while on forest service patrol, a deputy located a stolen camper. There is no suspect information.
On 7/23/22, at approximately 2015 hours, a deputy was dispatched to conduct a welfare check on an individual located at an unknown casino in Central City. The person was not located, a report was taken.
On 7/24/22, at 0710 hours, deputies responded to a single vehicle traffic accident on Highway 119 near mile marker 0.5, unincorporated Gilpin County. Upon arrival deputies provided scene security and assisted Colorado State Troopers with completing the accident investigation.
On 7/25/22, at approximately 0104 hours, the deputy was dispatched to mile marker 7.5, Central City Parkway, in reference to a disturbance. Upon investigation, the female subject was arrested for violation of a protection order.
On 7/26/22, at approximately 0625 hours, deputies were dispatched to mile marker 6.5 on Central City Parkway, in reference to an animal issue. The deceased animal was removed from the roadway and a report was taken.
On Monday, 7/25/22, at approximately 1405 hours, a citizen contacted a member of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to report a fraud / scam which occurred overseas. The citizen was advised a report would be completed and encouraged to contact the local law enforcement agency in which they reside.
On 7/25/22, at approximately 1751 hours, a deputy was dispatched to mile marker 1.5 on the Central City Parkway, on the report of an abandoned vehicle which was a road hazard. The vehicle was towed and a report taken.
On 7/25/22, at approximately 1821 hours, deputies responded to a report of a cold burglary located in the 100 block of Sierra Timber Rd. Unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.
On 7/25/22, an inmate was being dressed out and a baggie with residual narcotics was located. The arresting agency was contacted and the party was charged with introduction of contraband.
On 7/26/22, at approximately 0946 hours a deputy took a report about damage to a vehicle caused by a bear in the 2800 block of Apex Valley Road in Central City. A case report was later completed.
On 7/28/22, at approximately 0359 hours, a male party was pulled over on a traffic stop and was arrested on warrants. He was booked into the Gilpin County Jail. Nothing further.
On 7/28/22, at approximately 1230 hours, a deputy patrolled the Century Parking Garage at 111 Lawrence Street, Central City, and located a subject with multiple warrants. The subject was arrested and a case report was later completed.
On 7/28/22 at approximately 1249 hours, a 41-year old female party was contacted in the Century Parking garage, 111 Lawrence Street, Central City. The female was subsequently arrested on Douglas County Warrant and held on $1000 Cash Surety bond.
On 7/28/22 at 1329 hours, a female party was contacted and found to be in possession of less than 4 oz. of schedule I controlled substance, paraphernalia, and violation of a protection order. Party was released on summons into Gilpin County Court.
On 7/29/22, a dog was struck by a vehicle.
On 7/29/22, a male was found deceased in the woods.
On 7/28/22, at approximately 1638 hours, a female party was arrested on an active warrant and for violating a protection order. She was processed into the Gilpin County Jail. Nothing further.
On 7/29/22 at approximately 0340 hours, a male party showed up to turn himself in on a warrant. The male party was arrested and a report was taken.
On 7/29/22, at approximately 0800 hours, a Gilpin County deputy working their assigned shift at the Gilpin County Jail, 2960 Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk, booked a female party in on a warrant
On 7/30/22, a man was found camping illegally.
On 7/30/22, at approximately 0315 hours, a Deputy assisted Black Hawk Police Department by performing an Evidential Breath Alcohol Test (EBAT) using the Intoxilyzer I-9000 and a report was taken.
On 7/30/22, at 1344 hours, a deputy responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Lake Gulch Rd and Virginia Canyon Rd, Central City. A report was completed.
On 7/30/22, at 1536 hours, a motorcycle eluded a deputy on Highway 119 near mile marker 13, unincorporated Gilpin Count. No pursuit was initiated and a report was taken.
On 7/30/22, at approximately 1614 hours, a Deputy was dispatched to 12522 Highway 119 on a report of found property. A report was completed.
On 7/30/22, a deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle for reckless driving. The motorcycle failed to stop and eluded the deputy at a high rate of speed. The deputy terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.
On 7/30/22, at around 1952 hours, a vehicle eluded a Gilpin County deputy who was attempting to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was later arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
