Gilpin County Sheriff reports: December 2022

On 12/1/22, at approximately 1315 hours, a deputy working at the Gilpin County Jail located in unincorporated Gilpin County issued a Proof of Service for a revoked driver’s license.

On 12/2/22, a deputy took a report for fraud.

On 12/2/22, a vehicle caught on fire on Tolland Road, Rollinsville.

On 12/3/22, at approximately 4:10 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a theft located at the Grand Z Casino. The deputy was further advised the reporting party was not on scene, and the call can be handled by phone. A report was completed.

On 12/4/22, a male exposed his penis to a female. A deputy took a report.

On 12/5/22, at approximately 5 p.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.

On 12/6/22, at approximately 1:09 p.m., police, fire and medical were dispatched to 114 Old Logging Road in unincorporated Gilpin County, on a structure fire. Responders arrived on scene and the fire was put out.

On 12/6/22, at approximately 11:25 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the report of a harassment located in the 300 block of Sierra Timber Road in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.

On 12/7/22, at approximately 12:39 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 655 Pactolus Lake Road, in reference to a found property and a report was taken.

On 12/9/22, at approximately 11 a.m., a deputy was starting to release a female inmate who was sentenced to probation. A new warrant was found out of Jefferson County. The warrant was a CICJIS warrant for Failure to Appear for Motor Vehicle Theft/Agg 2/Under $2,000, with docket number C0302022M 002414 and a bond of $300 cash/surety. The party was booked in and bonded without incident.

On 12/9/22, at approximately 3:33 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a disturbance in progress located at 420 Bobtail Hill Circle, Central City. A report was completed.

On 12/10/22, at 8:32 a.m., a citizen came to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to make a report regarding a civil issue.

On 12/10/22, at approximately 11:40 a.m., a deputy followed up on a tip in regards to a homicide by a person of interest which occurred in Idaho. A follow up was completed and the report was done.

On 12/10/22, at approximately 12:52 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a cold assault in the area of 109 Main Street, Central City (Famous Bonanza Casino). A summons was issued, and a report was completed.

On 12/11/22, at approximately 4:07 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 420 Bobtail Hill Circle, Central City, on a report of a theft. A report was completed.

On 12/12/22, at approximately 8:20 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 149 Gregory Street, City of Central City, in reference to a disturbance and a report was taken.

On 12/13/22, at approximately 7:39 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 500 Lake Gulch Road in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed and a report was taken.

12/13/22, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a deputy took an information report regarding a suspicious incident that occurred around 3:18 p.m. on 12/12/22 in the parking area of the Justice Center located at 2960 Dory Hill Road in Black Hawk, unincorporated Gilpin County.

On 12/13/ 22, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a deputy arrested a male party for an active Jefferson County warrant and a report was taken.

On 12/15/22, at approximately 9 p.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.

On 12/15/22, at approximately 11:29 p.m., a party was pulled over during a traffic stop and was found to be driving under suspension. A citation was issued.

On 12/16/22, at approximately 5:30 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.

On 12/17/22, at approximately 2:39 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to stolen property at 132 Lawrence Street (Dragon Tiger Casino), Central City. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the victim, and the report was taken.

On 12/19/22, at approximately 12:23 a.m., a deputy assisted State Patrol with a stolen vehicle located at the Lady Luck Casino parking garage. The suspect inside the stolen vehicle tried to run over the State Patrol trooper, and a pursuit was initiated, and the suspect was arrested.

On 12/19/22, deputies were dispatched to 2960 Dory Hill Road in reference to a theft and a report was taken.

On 12/19/22, at approximately 11:50 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 200 Lynnwood Lane in reference to a parking problem. The vehicle was towed and a report was taken.

On 12/19/22, there was a disturbance at a home. Deputies went to the home and determined that no crime had been committed.

On 12/20/22, at 11 a.m. an investigator was requested to assist the Gilpin County Court with conducting a drug influence evaluation on a citizen who was appearing before the judge on a criminal case. The evaluation was conducted and a report given to the court.

On 12/20/22, at approximately 9:56 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of criminal mischief located in the 100 block of Forest Star Drive in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.

On 12/20/22, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a deputy found a controlled substance during an intake pat down.

On 12/21/22, a deputy responded to the Old Courthouse, 203 Eureka Street, Central City, on a panic alarm activation. An information report was completed.

On 12/21/22, at approximately 3:56 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino in reference to a motor vehicle accident with property damage only. A report was completed later.

On 12/22/22, at approximately 11:38 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy was assigned to investigate an alleged fraud case that occurred at 554 Old Hughesville Road, in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was completed later.

On 12/23/22, at approximately 7:15 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy took a report on a possible fraud.

On 12/23/22, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office vehicle was damaged.

On 12/23/22, at 10:22 a.m., a deputy responded to Highway 119 at mile marker 4.5, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of a vehicle trespass. Investigation disclosed that a firearm was used to shoot out the window and a radar detector was removed. A report was taken.

On 12/25/22, at approximately 11:17 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to assist the State Patrol with a felony stop at the Monarch Casino. The suspect was placed under custody without incident.

On 12/27/22, at approximately 2:43 a.m., a deputy assisted a Gaming Investigator with an underage suspect at the Grand Z Casino. Upon investigation, the female was not underage and with multiple warrants. The suspect was arrested without incident.

On 12/27/22, at approximately 9:34 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a trespass at the Century Casino. After removing the suspect from the premises, they were placed on an emergency mental health hold. A report was taken.

On 12/28/22, at approximately 12:01 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy assisted a Colorado State Patrol trooper with a DUI.

On 12/28/22, at approximately 8:41 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to Robinson Hill Road in reference to a medical/ CPR in progress, and later a death investigation. A report was completed later.

On 12/28/22, a deputy completed a certified VIN inspection.

On 12/28/22, at approximately 11:33 a.m., deputies were flagged down at 141 Nevada Street, City of Central City, in reference to found property and a report was taken.

On 12/29/22, a deputy responded to a motor vehicle crash (hit and run) in Central City. The vehicle was hit and the other vehicle left the scene and a report was made.

On 12/29/22, at approximately 12:43 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 17268 Highway 119, in reference to a mailbox in the roadway and a report was taken.

On 12/29/22, at approximately 6 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy slid off the road striking a tree with a patrol vehicle. A report was made.

On 12/29/22, the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office received a phone call from Brush PD that they received information about a possible homicide that may have occurred in Gilpin County. There was not enough information to take action at this time.

On 12/29/22, a truck got stuck and had to be towed.

On 12/31/22, at approximately 8:09 a.m., a deputy was involved in a motor vehicle crash in the 100 block of Bridge Street. A report was taken.

On 12/31/22, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a deputy took a report for a possible fraud.

On 12/31/22, at approximately 3:50 p.m., a deputy located a pill in the vehicle sally port of the jail. The pill was processed into evidence for destruction.
