Gilpin County Sheriff reports December: 2021

On 12/2/21 at approximately 6:34 p.m., deputies were advised of an unresponsive female party. Gilpin Ambulance Authority updated dispatch stating the female party was no longer conscious or breathing and they were beginning CPR before deputies arrived at the scene.

On 12/2/21 at approximately 4:40 a.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Ronnie Road in unincorporated Gilpin County, for a disturbance in progress. A suspect was identified and a warrant was sought for the suspect’s arrest.

On 12/2/21 at approximately 12:10 a.m., deputies were dispatched in reference to a Motor Vehicle theft and a report was taken.

On 12/3/21 at approximately 8:43 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary and a report was taken.

On 12/3/21 at approximately 6 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Central City, in reference to a stolen property out of a vehicle.

On 12/3/21 at 2:55 p.m., a deputy took a phone report of a vehicle trespass which occurred in the 100 block of E 1st High Street, Central City. The crime occurred between 12/2/21 at 11 p.m. and 12/3/21 at 2 p.m. The victim reported that nothing was taken.

On 12/3/21 at approximately 3:30 p.m., an officer observed a party fall out of a moving car at Highway 40 and Floyd Hill. A report was taken.

On 12/4/21 at approximately 8:10 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 530 Gregory Street (Red Dolly Casino) parking lot in Black Hawk in reference to a theft of a motor vehicle.

On 12/4/21, a deputy was dispatched to a break-in at a remote location in Gilpin County. Upon arrival in the area a locked gate was encountered. Video of the suspects was recovered. A report was made.

On 12/6/21 at approximately 5:04 a.m., deputies responded, emergent, to a report of CPR in progress located at Central City. Deputies, along with other responders conducted lifesaving measures in an effort to resuscitate the individual. These efforts were not successful and the individual was pronounced deceased on scene. A report was taken.

On 12/6/21 at approximately 12:22 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office, located at 2960 Dory Hill Road in Gilpin County in reference to a fraud. A report was taken.

On 12/6/21 at approximately 7:40 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to contact an individual residing at the 200 block of Eureka Street in Central City regarding a suspicious event. A report was taken.

On 12/6/21 at approximately 11:21 p.m., deputies responded to the Dragon Tiger Casino at 132 Lawrence Street in Central City, on the report of a party presenting a stolen identification. No suspects were located. A report was taken.

On 12/7/21 at approximately 12:34 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a burglary at Mining claim 18038, located on Elk Park Road in unincorporated Gilpin County. Due to road conditions deputies had to take the report by phone. A report was taken.

On 12/7/21 at approximately 7:50 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street in Black Hawk for a report of someone being thrown out of a car. A case report was later completed.

On 12/7/21 at approximately 8:29 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop near mile post 7 on the Central City Parkway. The driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and later released with a criminal summons.

On 12/8/21 at approximately 4:46 p.m., Gilpin deputies received a report of a mail theft that had occurred in the 1000 block of High Point Circle, Black Hawk. A report was made.

On 12/9/21 at approximately 9:56 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 321 Gregory Street (Grand Z Casino) Central City, in reference to a criminal mischief in the parking lot.

On 12/9/21 at approximately 2:11 p.m., deputies responded to 120 Main Street in Central City in reference to a disturbance and a report was taken.

On 12/11/21 at approximately 12:15 a.m., a deputy responded to 240 Main Street in Black Hawk to assist the Black Hawk Police Department with two assaultive suspects. The suspects were arrested and a case report was later completed.

On 12/11/21 at approximately 2:15 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Central City for an in-progress assault.

On 12/13/21 at approximately 9:32 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a theft at the Z Stop gas station located at 1351 Highway 119 in unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.

On 12/13/21 at approximately 9:45 a.m., a Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office deputy spoke with a citizen who reported their bank account had been compromised.

On 12/14/21 at approximately 3:44 a.m., a party came to the front lobby to turn himself in on an active warrant.

On 12/14/21 at approximately 10:35 p.m., a deputy responded to the Famous Bonanza Casino located at 109 Main Street in Central City for a report of a found fake five dollar bill. The bill was confirmed to be counterfeit and was logged into evidence. A case report was later completed.

On 12/15/21 at approximately 12:30 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Main Street in Black Hawk. The driver`s license was found to be suspended. A summons was issued and a case report was later completed.

On 12/15/21 at approximately 9 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at mile 4.5 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

On 12/15/21 at approximately 8:45 p.m., a deputy took a phone report of a theft that was believed to have occurred at the Gilpin County School located at 10595 Highway 119 in unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was later completed.

On 12/18/21 at 7 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Grand Z casino for a Disturbance in progress. One male party was arrested for unrelated warrants.

On 12/18/21 at approximately 9:48 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a call of a missing license plate located at Black Hawk. A report was completed.

On 12/18/21 at approximately 9:15 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to Coyote Liquors for the report of a theft. A report was made.

On 12/20/21 at approximately 4:30 p.m., active, valid warrants were discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrants.

On 12/21/21 at approximately 1:50 p.m., a deputy contacted a female party in the Sheriff’s Office lobby who advised she had a warrant. The female party was arrested for the warrant and a report was taken.

On 12/21/21 at approximately 12:51 p.m., deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Base Camp, located at 661 Highway 46 in unincorporated Gilpin County. Deputies discovered the driver of the vehicle had several active warrants for their arrest. The driver was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Detention Center.

On 12/22/21 at approximately 14:29 hours, deputies responded to a report of a theft at the Bonanza Casino located at 109 Main Street in Central City. Surveillance did not produce any substantial leads. A report was taken.

On 12/23/21 at approximately 1:05 a.m., a deputy made a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Highway 119 in unincorporated Gilpin County. A passenger was found to have active warrants for her arrest and was booked into the Gilpin County Jail. A case report was later completed.

On 12/23/21 at approximately 1:51 a.m., Gilpin deputies responded to the Grand Z Casino for the report of a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene and met with the reporting party who stated that another party had thrown a knife at him and punched him in the back of the head. A report was made and an investigation started.

On 12/23/21 at approximately 3:22 p.m., deputies completed a report documenting a series of conversations that had occurred throughout the day regarding a neighbor dispute.

On 12/23/21 at approximately 2:22 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 102 Main Street (Century Casino parking garage) in Central City in reference to a suspicious person under a vehicle.

On 12/24/21 at approximately 2:10 a.m., a deputy found a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of Gregory Street in Central City. The license plate was reported stolen and one of the occupants was arrested for an active warrant. A case report was later completed.

On 12/24/21 at approximately 4:40 p.m., a deputy took a counter report of a traffic accident which occurred near Mack Road and Vernon Drive, in Central City.

On 12/26/21 at approximately 9:27 p.m., a deputy responded to the Grand Z Casino, 321 Gregory Street, Central City, on the report of a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill. A report was taken.

On 12/27/21 at approximately 10 a.m., deputies were informed of a male party in the public area of the clerk’s office who had a warrant for FTA. Deputies located two active warrants. The male party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the FTA Warrant and the other two active warrants.

On 12/27/21, a deputy took a found property report. The property has been logged into evidence for safekeeping.

On 12/28/21 at approximately 5:02 p.m., deputies responded to 410 Bobtail Hill Circle, Central City, on a welfare check. A report was taken.

On 12/29/21 at approximately 11:22 a.m., deputies contacted the reporting party regarding a potential harassment at unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.

On 12/30/21 at approximately 8:55 a.m., deputies responded to assist the Black Hawk Police Department regarding a trespassing at the Isle of Capri Casino located in Black Hawk. The suspect was on scene and charged with 3rd degree trespassing and issued a summons.

On 12/30/21 at approximately 1:01 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office to speak with an individual regarding an assault located on Dory Hill Road in unincorporated Gilpin County.

On 12/30/21 at approximately 3:44 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Louis Drive in Central City in reference to a cold assault call and a report was completed.

On 12/31/21 approximately 9:35 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Gilpin Road and Paint Brush Drive, Gilpin County, for an abandoned / suspicious vehicle parked on the road. The vehicle was towed and a report was completed.

On 12/31/21 at approximately 11:28 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 1500 Block of Central City Parkway in reference to a non-injury motor vehicle accident with no property damage and a report was completed.

On 12/31/21 at approximately 4:50 p.m., Gilpin deputies responded to the 100 block of Nevada Street, Central City for the report of a motor vehicle accident with possible injuries. Deputies arrived on scene where two vehicles had collided with each other. Damage was observed and a report was made.
