Gilpin County Sheriff Reports 12/29/15 to 1/11/16

On December 29, 2015 at approximately 1239 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a cold burglary which occurred in the 3000 block of Gamble Gulch Road, Black Hawk, CO 80422 within unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was completed.

On December 31, 2015 at approximately 0120 hrs, a Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle was found to have a felony warrant out of Idaho.  The warrant was confirmed and they would extradite the party.  The party was arrested and passenger of the vehicle was given a ride.  End of report.

On December 31st, 2015 a deputy conducted a traffic stop. The validation tabs on the vehicle were determined to be fictitious, and the driver did not have a valid driver`s license. The vehicle was towed and the driver was issued a citation.

On December 31, 2015 at approximately 1420 hours, a deputy stopped a vehicle for following another vehicle too closely, at approximately Mile Marker 1.1 Highway 119, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado.  The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for Following Too Closely, No Proof of Insurance and Driving under Restraint (Suspended).  The driver was also given a completed Department of Revenue form DR2190 (Proof of Service).  A case report was later completed.

On December 31, 2015  a deputy investigated a failure to register as a sex offender.  A warrant was completed and sent to the District Attorney`s Office.

On December 31, 2015 Gilpin County Sheriff`s Deputies responded to a house fire.  It was discovered the fire had occurred earlier.  A report was filed.

On December 31, 2015 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  The driver contacted and later arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.  Driver completed a breath test, was booked and charged. End of report.

On January 1, 2016 a deputy took a report of a counterfeit one hundred dollar bill that had been passed at the Z-Stop gas station.

On January 1, 2016 at approximately 1320 hours a deputy was dispatched to the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado to take a report of a cold disturbance. An investigation was begun. End of report.

On January 2, 2016 a Deputy towed a vehicle that was parked alongside Highway 119 within unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado. The vehicle had been previously red tagged and the vehicle had been in the same spot alongside the highway for more than 24 hours.

On January 3, 2016 a deputy conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to be driving on a revoked license as a habitual offender. The vehicle driven was determined to be uninsured. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was impounded.

On January 4, 2016 at approximately 1355 hours a male party was arrested in the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office located at 2960 Dory Hill Rd, Black Hawk, CO 80422 on a warrant for failure to appear issued by the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office. The male party was processed into the Gilpin County Detentions Center without incident.

On January 5, 2016, at approximately 0950 hours, A deputy was dispatched to the Gilpin County Court located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Black Hawk Colorado 80422 regarding a female party who had and active warrant out of boulder.  The female party was contacted and was taken into custody at the Gilpin County Jail.

On January 5, 2016, a deputy responded to a burglary that occurred. The case is still under investigation.

On January 5, 2015 Deputies responded to a home within unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado on a report of a disturbance in progress. A party was arrested.

On January 6, 2016 a male party incarcerated in the Gilpin County Detention Facility located in unincorporated Gilpin County at mailing address 2960 Dory Hill Rd, Black Hawk, CO 80422 missed his court appearance due to a refusal to leave his cell. No further incident occurred.

On December 07, 2015 a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Old Stagecoach Trail on the report of a stolen vehicle. While in the area of the 100 block of Willies Lane, the reported stolen vehicle was found on the roadway. Evidence was collected, a report was completed and the vehicle was released to the owners.

On January 8, 2016, at approximately 1901 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a reported cold burglary in the 1000 Block of Nevadaville Road, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado.  A case report was later completed.

On January 9, 2016 at approximately 1125 hours, a deputy was dispatched the 100 block Plutus Drive, Black Hawk, CO 80422 within unincorporated Gilpin County on the report of harassment following an animal complaint. A report was completed.

On January 9, 2016 at approximately 1230 hours, a deputy responded to the Sheriff`s Office to meet with a party who was reporting a motor vehicle accident that occurred on his property.  A report of the incident was completed.

On January 9, 2016 Deputy received a a REDDI report of a vehicle traveling into unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado. The deputy located vehicle and stopped the vehicle for several traffic violations. The driver was arrested for DUI.

On January 10, 2016 a deputy stopped a motorist for speeding. The driver was found to be driving on a revoked license. He was issued a summons and given a courtesy ride to work.

On Monday January 11, 2016 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation within unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado. The Driver was arrested for Felony DUI.
