On 12/1/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of theft of carpentry tools which occurred on Monday, November 30, 2020. The theft occurred in the area of Colorado Highway 46 and Smith Hill Road, unincorporated Gilpin County. A case report was completed.
On 12/1/20, Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to the 5900 block of Virginia Canyon Road on a report of a disturbance. At the conclusion of the investigation, neither involved party was criminally charged, but a male party was placed on a mental health hold. A report was later completed.
On 12/2/20, a Gilpin County deputy spoke with a citizen who reported a cybercrime and extortion.
On 12/4/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Gold Mountain Village Apartments for the report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle has not been recovered.
On 12/4/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the area of Gilpin Road and Columbine Lane for the report of an abandoned vehicle with a 24-hour red tag. The vehicle was towed.
On 12/5/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City. The driver was issued a summons for no insurance and unregistered vehicle.
On 12/5/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the area of Virginia Canyon for the report of a full involved house fire. The owner sustained moderate injuries.
On 12/5/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Mystic Lane on the report of a party making a suicidal statement. The party was transported to a hospital for an Emergency Mental Health Evaluation. A report was taken.
On 12/6/20, Gilpin County Police assisted other law enforcement agencies on a single motor vehicle accident at approximately mile marker 1.5 Colorado Highway 119. A male party was taken into custody by the Colorado State Patrol. A case report was completed.
On 12/6/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of an off-highway vehicle accident that took place on an off-road trail. A case report was later completed.
On 12/6/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to call a party regarding a dog issue near the 100 block of Hornblend Road. A report was taken.
On 12/7/20, emergency responders along with the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office were dispatched to the area of Chase Mine Road on a report of a deceased male party. A death investigation was conducted by the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office and the Gilpin County Coroner’s Office. A case report was completed.
On 12/7/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of Lawrence Street on a disturbance. A report was taken.
On 12/7/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway for no registration. The driver had four active warrants for his arrest, but he was unable to be taken into custody due to Gilpin Jail Covid-19 restrictions. He was released on a summons for driving while license revoked as a habitual traffic offender and no insurance.
On 12/8/20, a Gilpin County deputy located a light pole that had possibly been struck by a vehicle in the 100 block of Eureka Street. A report was later completed.
On 12/8/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a residence on a welfare check where the reporting party stated another resident of the home was yelling at him. The deputy spoke with both parties and determined everyone was okay and no laws had been broken. A report was completed for the incident.
On 12/8/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a vehicle break in. When the deputy arrived he met with the vehicle owner. A report was completed for the incident.
On 12/11/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to Vernon Drive for a welfare check. The deputy discovered two non responsive individuals. Lifesaving efforts were made. The two individuals were declared deceased on scene. A case report was later completed.
On 12/11/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a report of a cold burglary in the 100 block of Jankowski Drive. A report was completed, and the investigation is underway.
On 12/12/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a phone call concerning a resident of Central City being a victim of fraud. A case report was later completed.
On 12/13/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located at mile marker 4.5 on the Central City Parkway. A report was taken.
On 12/15/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a call regarding fraudulent use of a bank account and debit card. A report was completed for the incident and the case is still pending investigation.
On 12/15/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to a theft where items were stolen from the bed of a truck. The deputy completed a case report for the incident. The case is still under investigation.
On 12/15/20, an inmate in custody at the Gilpin County Jail was found to be violating a protection order. He was charged and processed into the jail without incident.
On 12/15/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino on the report of a criminal trespass into two separate vehicles. This case is currently under investigation.
On 12/16/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a fraud report.
On 12/16/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a theft report from a resident on South Dory Lakes Drive. The case is active, still under investigation.
On 12/17/20, Gilpin County deputies responded to a residence in Central City for the report of a harassment. A male party was taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 12/17/20, Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to a residence on a reported harassment. While investigating the harassment, deputies learned of an assault that had occurred about 10 days prior. Deputies arrested the suspect, and the party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 12/19/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to 109 Main Street (The Famous Bonanza Casino) on the report of a counterfeit $20 bill. The bill was seized, and a report taken.
On 12/20/20, a Gilpin County deputy completed a certified VIN inspection for a resident.
On 12/21/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a female party at the Grand Z Casino. The female had a felony warrant for her arrest and had methamphetamine in her possession. The female was booked into Gilpin Jail.
On 12/21/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of 100 block of Spring Street. The party was arrested for a DUI and later released on a summons. A report was completed.
On 12/21/20, a Gilpin County deputy completed a certified VIN inspection.
On 12/22/20, the director of the Gilpin County Office of Parks and Recreation reported finding a storage shed owned by that office to be damaged. A deputy responded to the scene and documented the damage.
On 12/23/20, a Gilpin County deputy completed a certified VIN inspection for a resident.
On 12/22/20, an investigator began work on a report of False Information to a Pawn Broker.
On 12/22/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a motor vehicle accident in approximately the 300 block of Eureka Street. A report was later completed.
On 12/23/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of Martin Drive on a civil issue. A report was taken.
On 12/23/20, a Gilpin County deputy observed a disabled and abandoned vehicle in the turn lane at the Big T parking lot in the 100 block of Nevada Street. The vehicle had been involved in a motor vehicle accident the night before and a report was not completed, nor was it towed. The deputy had the vehicle towed.
On 12/23/20, a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the area of Travis Draw and Upper Travis Gulch on a report of an abandoned vehicle which was partially blocking the roadway. The vehicle was towed due to being abandoned and blocking the roadway. A case report was completed.
On 12/24/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to the Central City Post Office for the report of criminal mischief. Post Office boxes had been broken into and mail taken.
On 12/25/20, a Gilpin County deputy responded to a residence on Lakeview Drive for a suspicious incident. The incident does not appear to be criminal in nature.
On 12/27/20, a Gilpin County deputy completed a certified VIN inspection for a resident.
On 12/27/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of trespassing in the 800 block of Russell Gulch Road. A case report was later completed.
On 12/27/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a suspicious party located near the 100 block of Nevada Street. The suspicious party had an active warrant for his arrest. Due to the Gilpin County Jail`s intake policy and the global pandemic, the party was informed of the warrant and released. A report was taken.
On 12/28/20, a Gilpin County deputy contacted a party for a fraudulent account that was opened, and a report was taken.
On 12/28/20, a Colorado State Patrol Trooper requested emergent cover for an accident. Deputies responded to assist. A male party was later arrested.
On 12/28/20, a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop near the 500 block of Gregory Street. A criminal summons was issued to the driver.
On 12/28/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report for a suicidal subject. The deputy later located the subject, who was not conscious and had attempted to take his life. Immediate medical attention was provided, and the male party regained consciousness. The male party was transported to the hospital.
On 12/29/20, a Gilpin County deputy seized a stolen license plate in approximately the 100 block of Lawrence Street. A report was later completed.
On 12/31/20, a Gilpin County deputy`s vehicle was damaged during routine patrol of Spring Street. A case report was later completed.
On 12/31/20, a Gilpin County deputy took a report of a burglary in the 200 block of West First High Street in Central City.
