Dear Editor,
Imagine staying in your own home for the rest of your life because your home is safe. Imagine you do not trip, fall, fracture your hip and need to move to an assisted living senior facility in another county. Imagine if you were able to add grab bars in your bathroom, replace your stairs with a ramp and/or move everything you need to your main level.
Gilpin County Senior Living wants to be a part of your effort to stay safe in your own home. Unfortunately, in a previous letter to the editor, we gave you the wrong contact information.
Please contact us by calling Jeanne Nicholson 303-582-5830. Leave a message if Jeanne doesn't answer. Or email us at nicholsonjeanne@gmail.com
We would be honored to assist you financially to make your home safer. All limited income Gilpin County senior citizens 65 years of age and older are eligible to apply for financial assistance.
If you would like to donate to Gilpin County Senior Living to help a Gilpin senior stay safe in their own home or build senior-friendly housing, you can send a check to Gilpin County Senior Living P.O. Box 783, Black Hawk, CO, 80422.
Contrary to current gossip, we are adding this program to our services, not replacing our plan to build affordable senior housing with this new program. We intend to do both!
Jeanne Nicholson
