The all high school cast for Gilpin’s production of the Diary of Anne Frank captured the emotional depth of an eclectic group hiding from persecution during the Holocaust.
The spectacular set included multi levels and a thrust stage floating above the seats in the middle of the theater. With seating on the stage as well, the audience was inspired by a close up view of innocent optimism in the face of fear.
The actors, many of whom were in their debut performance, played the captivating story with consummate skill. With the horror of genocide looming, the cast and crew captured Anne Frank’s profound belief that people overall are good at heart.
