CENTRAL CITY - The Gilpin County Arts Association is far more than just a gallery. It is located in historic Washington Hall in Central City. A group of donors, artists, and art world lovers established the gallery as a nonprofit in 1947.
Since then, the GCAA has educated, encouraged, and displayed the work of local artists in many mediums, including both two- and three-dimensional art, jewelry, fiber art, photography, pottery, and, as they say, much more. Currently, more than 120 artists are included in their gallery.
They have the oldest juried art show “this side of the Mississippi,” and will be exhibiting award-winning work during the Studio Tour.
Find the Gilpin County Arts Association at 117 Eureka Street in Central City; see much of its artists’ work on its website, www.gilpinarts.org.
