Candidates for Gilpin County elected positions will participate in a local candidates forum on September 24, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Gilpin County Rec Center, 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk. The forum, moderated by The Mountain-Ear newspaper and the Weekly Register-Call, will include introductions by each candidate and a question-and-answer session.
The candidates will be given five minutes to introduce themselves and state why they would be the best for the job, followed by questions submitted by community residents.
Candidates include Joe Marr and Susan Berumen for County Commissioner; Sahari McCormick and Gail Crawford for Clerk and Recorder; Rebecca (Becky) Shirey and April Nielsen for County Assessor; Mary Lorenz for County Treasurer; Zane Laubhan for County Coroner; Kevin Armstrong for Sheriff.
